Where Winds Meet 2.3 Notes Explain Guild War Timing Failure and Battle Pass Changes
Guild War will keep its server-based schedule through daylight-saving changes, even when local start times move by an hour.

Where Winds Meet’s October 29 Version 2.3 notes explain how a time-offset failure opened Guild War early in three server regions on October 18, and detail the score rollback and the event’s server-time policy. The Steam announcement also covers Battle Pass timing changes, Qingzhou support and several fixes. The Version 2.3 rollout had been scheduled for October 15, with the maintenance window set for 5 a.m. to noon (UTC+8) and players allowed to remain logged in while some features might be unavailable.
A code merge conflict caused the in-game time offset system to fail in Yunya, which serves Europe and the Middle East, Yougu, which serves US East and South America, and Linhe, which serves US West. Guild War consequently opened ahead of schedule. The issue began on October 18 at 03:30 (UTC+8) during the day’s first match, and the technical fix was completed at 21:00 (UTC+8).
Deployment waited until the Canglang region’s matches had ended, avoiding disruption to games already in progress. The fix was deployed at 23:55 (UTC+8), after which Guild War returned to its normal schedule. The developer reversed scores earned during the abnormal opening period to preserve competitive fairness and sent compensation to affected Wanderers. It also plans to strengthen verification during code merging and releases.
Guild War will not change its server schedule to follow regional daylight-saving transitions. Since European and American regions include countries with different clock-change dates and practices, matches will continue to open at their set server times. After some regions began switching to standard time on October 25, local start times could differ by an hour. The in-game event interface shows the local schedule.
The Battle Pass changes move the end time for Scarlet Whispers to November 13 at 17:59:59 (UTC+8), from November 14 at 04:59:59. Weekly Battle Pass EXP caps reset on Mondays at 05:00 (UTC+8), starting October 29, and the developer says it will grant EXP retroactively to all Wanderers on all servers. The update also adds Qingzhou support, with required items available at Zhao Laoliu’s General Store, and fixes issues affecting mail rewards, Qinghe Homestead quests and three titles.
