A new Subnautica 2 developer video examines how the upcoming content update will weave the Colonists’ story and the history of the Axum into exploration, while connecting those threads to the Collector Leviathan.
Unknown Worlds introduced the episode, titled “Beyond the Surface,” in its Steam announcement. Narrative designers Seth Dickinson and Tim Partlett join creative director Anthony Gallegos to discuss how players can piece together the story as they explore.
The conversation builds on an earlier Early Access 2.0 preview, which outlined a new region with several biomes, new creatures, and more story about the Cicada’s colonists and other beings.
