Players can access the preview through Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or PC Game Pass. All modes, features, and areas will be available, with no playtime limits or progress caps during the preview window. Progress will carry into the full game, and players who buy it during the preview receive a 10% discount.
Preorders open when the preview begins on Oct. 29, with listed prices of £49.99, €59.99, or $59.99. Buyers can continue playing through the full release on Nov. 10.
The offer follows a rough return for the series. Football Manager skipped 2024 before FM26 arrived in 2025 with a Unity-powered overhaul that drew complaints about bugs and missing features. FM26’s Steam rating was around 23% positive within 24 hours of launch, then stood at 38% positive by the time FM27’s preview was announced, still in Steam’s Mostly Negative category. FM26’s first-day reception covered the launch-day rating. Sports Interactive later acknowledged that FM26 had missed expectations in its review of the game.
FM27 is also planned to bring an updated interface designed to require fewer clicks, Tactical Tweaks, Tactical Effectiveness, Continue Flow customization, and improved Match Day visuals. The presentation updates include more crowds, dynamic weather, and lighting. The game will bring back some features and familiar behaviors as well.
