Mega Chandelure will make its Pokémon GO debut in Super Mega Raids on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Chandelure caught during the event will have Mega Level 1 unlocked, and Shiny Chandelure will appear at boosted odds of 1 in 10.
A player-shared screenshot shows a 300 Mega Energy cost on Chandelure’s Mega Evolution screen. Its note says Chandelure caught in Super Mega Raids may already have a Mega Level unlocked, which could let those catches Mega Evolve without spending the listed energy. The screenshot does not establish how broadly that exception applies.
September’s Mega Staraptor Raid Day used the same starting Mega Level bonus. Chandelure adds a new Charged Attack and a route to Super Max, alongside the event’s raid bonuses.
Ominous Wind+ unlocks at Super Max
Mega Chandelure can progress to Super Max for the first time in Pokémon GO. It must reach the third Mega Level, Max, before advancing further. Trainers will need Mega Energy and Mega Raids to power up that progression, since Mega Evolving alone will not be enough.
At Super Max, Mega Chandelure gains the additional Charged Attack Ominous Wind+ while Mega Evolved. The move has 50 power in Trainer Battles and can raise the user’s Attack and Defense by one stage. In Gyms and Raids, it has 145 power, and its strength increases with Mega Chandelure’s Mega Level.
Global Challenge sets temporary bonuses
A Global Challenge will run from Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through Saturday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. PDT. Trainers worldwide can complete Raid Battles to clear challenge tiers. From Monday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m. PST through Sunday, November 15, at 12:00 p.m. PST, Mega Chandelure at Mega Level 1 or higher will receive a boost to Ominous Wind+’s base power. The boost will not apply in the GO Battle League. Mega Chandelure at Super Max will also receive a CP boost based on the number of tiers completed.
Raid bonuses and counters
All Trainers can earn up to five extra free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, bringing the daily total to six. The Remote Raid limit will rise to 20 from Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through Saturday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
Chandelure is a Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon. Raid encounters will yield 1,784 to 1,867 CP without a weather boost, or 2,231 to 2,335 CP in Fog or Sunny weather. Mega Houndoom with Snarl and Dark Pulse+, Mega Greninja with Water Shuriken and Surf+, and Mega Tyranitar with Bite and Brutal Swing are among the recommended counters.
Timed Research and ticket details
Timed Research during Raid Day will award a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Tyranitar. Its tasks must be completed and rewards claimed before the research expires. Super Mega Raids may appear only at certain Gyms and require teamwork. The Pokémon GO map can show possible raid locations, active raids, and nearby community meetups.
An event ticket costs US$4.99 or the equivalent price in local currency. It adds eight Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs, bringing the day’s total to 14. Ticket holders also have an increased chance of receiving Rare Candy XL from Super Mega Raid Battles, plus an extra 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust from every Raid Battle. Those bonuses apply during the event’s 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local-time window. See the official event announcement for the ticket terms.
Tickets can be gifted to friends at Great Friends level or higher. They cannot be purchased with PokéCoins, and purchases, including gifts, are nonrefundable subject to applicable law and the exceptions in the Terms of Service. The in-game shop will stop selling tickets at 5:00 p.m. local time on October 31. A $4.99 Ultra Box bundles the event ticket with one Premium Battle Pass.
