Mega Chandelure was scheduled to make its Pokémon GO debut in Super Mega Raids on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Chandelure caught during the event would have Mega Level 1 unlocked, and Shiny Chandelure would appear at boosted odds of 1 in 10.
A player-shared screenshot shows a 300 Mega Energy cost on Chandelure’s Mega Evolution screen. Its note says Chandelure caught in Super Mega Raids may already have a Mega Level unlocked, which could let those catches Mega Evolve without spending the listed energy. The screenshot does not establish how broadly that exception applies.
September’s Mega Staraptor Raid Day used the same starting Mega Level bonus. Chandelure adds a new Charged Attack and a route to Super Max, alongside the event’s raid bonuses.
Ominous Wind+ unlocks at Super Max
Mega Chandelure can progress to Super Max for the first time in Pokémon GO. It must reach the third Mega Level, Max, before advancing further. Trainers need Mega Energy and Mega Raids to power up that progression, since Mega Evolving alone will not be enough.
At Super Max, Mega Chandelure gains the additional Charged Attack Ominous Wind+ while Mega Evolved. The move has 50 power in Trainer Battles and can raise the user’s Attack and Defense by one stage. In Gyms and Raids, its usual base power is 145, and its strength increases with Mega Chandelure’s Mega Level.
Global Challenge bonuses are live
A Global Challenge ran from Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through Saturday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. PDT, asking Trainers worldwide to complete Raid Battles and clear challenge tiers. Its bonuses run from Monday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m. PST through Sunday, November 15, at 12:00 p.m. PST.
Data shared by Matt from the PokeMiners Discord puts Ominous Wind+’s base power at 174 in Gyms and Raids during the bonus window, up from 145. The data also gives Super Max Mega Chandelure a boost of 10 levels instead of 2.

The announced Ominous Wind+ power bonus applies to Mega Chandelure at Mega Level 1 or higher, but not in the GO Battle League. The separate CP boost applies to Mega Chandelure at Super Max and was tied to the number of challenge tiers completed.
Raid bonuses and counters
During Raid Day, all Trainers could earn up to five extra free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, bringing the daily total to six. The Remote Raid limit increased to 20 from Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through Saturday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
Chandelure is a Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon. Raid encounters yield 1,784 to 1,867 CP without a weather boost, or 2,231 to 2,335 CP in Fog or Sunny weather. Mega Houndoom with Snarl and Dark Pulse+, Mega Greninja with Water Shuriken and Surf+, and Mega Tyranitar with Bite and Brutal Swing are among the recommended counters.
Timed Research and ticket details
Timed Research during Raid Day offered a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Tyranitar. Its tasks had to be completed and rewards claimed before the research expired. Super Mega Raids may appear only at certain Gyms and require teamwork. The Pokémon GO map can show possible raid locations, active raids, and nearby community meetups.
An event ticket cost US$4.99 or the equivalent price in local currency. It added eight Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs, bringing the day’s total to 14. Ticket holders also had an increased chance of receiving Rare Candy XL from Super Mega Raid Battles, plus an extra 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust from every Raid Battle. Those bonuses applied during the event’s 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local-time window. See the official event announcement for the ticket terms.
Tickets could be gifted to friends at Great Friends level or higher. They could not be purchased with PokéCoins, and purchases, including gifts, were nonrefundable subject to applicable law and the exceptions in the Terms of Service. The in-game shop stopped selling tickets at 5:00 p.m. local time on October 31. A $4.99 Ultra Box bundled the event ticket with one Premium Battle Pass.
