Prepare Your Pokémon GO Team for the Oct. 3 Gigantamax Cinderace Battle

A community checklist recommends reviewing your attacker, defender, and healer upgrades before the Max Battle Day runs from 2 to 5 p.m. local time.

Pokémon GO’s Gigantamax Cinderace Max Battle Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time, and a community checklist offers a practical way to get your team ready. Cinderace is a pure Fire type, so Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type attackers are the choices to prioritize. Niantic’s event announcement has the schedule and event details.

Check your Max Battle roles before spending resources

The checklist starts with the Pokémon you already have powered up. Review their CP and the level of their role-specific Max move, then identify any gaps among attackers, defenders, and healers. For the moves, it recommends Max Impact for attackers, Max Guard for defenders, and Max Spirit for healers. The post calls the defensive move Max Shield, but Pokémon GO names it Max Guard.

If you are missing a suitable Pokémon for one of those roles, the checklist advises using its search terms to find a candidate. When resources allow, it suggests powering Pokémon up to at least level 35, or level 40 for a clearer visual marker as the candy icon changes from a circle to a triangle. It also recommends bringing the relevant Max move to at least level 2.

Start building a Max Particle reserve early

The checklist says Max Particles have become harder to collect because most Power Spots are appearing on Mondays, and recommends starting preparations early. It calls a full reserve of around 1,700 particles a usual target. That figure is a player recommendation, not the announced event limit. The event details list a 1,600 Max Particle collection limit, so check how many the game allows you to collect before planning your battles.

Which role are you still working on for Cinderace, attacking, defending, or healing? For more on the event’s particle allowance and Max Battle prep, stay connected through X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
