Gigantamax Cinderace will headline Pokémon GO’s next Max Battle Day on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and mark the first time Trainers can encounter its shiny form, giving the Fire-type challenge a clear collection goal alongside its battle demands.
Pokémon GO’s official announcement confirms the event and showcases Cinderace’s imposing Gigantamax form. Its shiny version has a darker body with more orange coloring on its clothing, so successful encounters should be easy for collectors to distinguish.
The reveal follows the September 8 start of Twilight Trails, Pokémon GO’s Season 24. The season is bringing more Dynamax activity to Power Spots, and this Max Battle Day will push that system into a particularly busy spotlight.
Every Power Spot will host Gigantamax Cinderace
Gigantamax Cinderace will appear at every Power Spot during the main event window. Power Spots will also refresh more often, with additional locations becoming active, giving local groups more chances to gather for the teamwork these battles require.
Cinderace is a pure Fire-type Pokémon, so Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type moves are the best choices for dealing damage. Trainers should prepare strong attackers in those categories rather than relying only on Fire-focused Max teams.
Power Spots will provide 8× Max Particles, while the collection limit will rise to 1,600 Max Particles. The event will also allow up to three Special Trades, giving players more room to share catches with friends.
Max Particle bonuses begin before the battle window
From 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on October 3, walking will provide 2× Max Particles, and the distance required to receive them will drop to one-quarter of the normal amount. Trainers must first collect all Max Particles available through the Nearby menu before these bonuses apply. Adventure Sync can help track the reduced distance, so checking the Nearby menu before the event begins is worthwhile.
The daily Remote Raid limit will also increase from 10 to 20 from October 2 at 5:00 p.m. to October 3 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7). Gigantamax Cinderace battles will still be tied to Power Spots, but the wider limit gives Trainers more room for remote activity around the event period.
Tickets add extra Max Battle rewards
A paid event ticket will cost US$4.99, or the equivalent price in local currency. It will unlock Timed Research running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on October 3, with rewards including 1 Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, and 6,400 Max Particles. Ticket holders will also receive 2× XP from Max Battles. The ticket remains available in the in-game shop until 5:00 p.m. local time on October 3.
An Ultra Ticket Box will also cost US$4.99 and include the event ticket plus 800 Max Particles.
Finding Power Spots for Gigantamax Cinderace
The official Pokémon GO Map can show locations where Max Battles may appear, along with nearby community meetups that can help Trainers find other players before October 3. With every Power Spot hosting Gigantamax Cinderace during the main window, the most useful preparation will be having Water-, Ground-, or Rock-type attackers ready and enough Max Particles to enter the battles.
The shiny debut gives this Max Battle Day a strong collection target, while the expanded Power Spot schedule should make the battle itself easier to arrange. Cinderace is now the name to watch as Twilight Trails continues.
