NBA 2K27 Confirms Its First Permanent Bans for Cheats and Input Manipulation

NBA 2K27 has moved from warning to enforcement. The team confirmed on September 24 that it issued its first wave of permanent bans against accounts using cheats and scripts to gain an unfair advantage through shooting aids and input manipulation.
Those actions violate the Player Code of Conduct and undermine fair competition. Any account found to have used these methods since August 26, 2026, is subject to a permanent account ban. Repeat cheating will also result in a console or PC ban, extending the penalty beyond the game account itself.
Every ban is reviewed and confirmed before it is applied. That review process is meant to separate confirmed cheating from ordinary gameplay issues, although the announcement does not provide a total number of banned accounts.
NBA 2K27 will keep expanding its detection efforts
The first wave is only the beginning of the enforcement effort. Detection capabilities are already being improved, with new tools in development to identify cheating methods as they evolve. The team said it will continue monitoring accounts and taking action against cheats and input manipulation.
