NBA 2K27 Lays Out Flexible The W Progression and MyWNBA Franchise Tools
Players will be able to reshape attributes with MyPoints, unlock play-calling over a season, and run a WNBA franchise using systems drawn from MyNBA.

NBA 2K27 will give The W a career system that can change as your player develops, while MyWNBA will bring the franchise tools of MyNBA into the WNBA. An August 18 Courtside Report details the attribute, chemistry, play-calling, and franchise systems planned for both modes.
The W will focus on building a player’s career from the ground up. Progression will not lock a build into one permanent direction, and new team-based systems will make relationships with teammates part of the on-court game.
Build-as-You-Go makes player development more flexible
NBA 2K27’s updated Game Attribute System will tie physical attributes directly to maximum attribute caps. Height, weight, and wingspan will form the foundation of a player’s potential, whether they are creating a powerful center or a fast point guard.
The new Build-as-You-Go model will let players remove attributes and reapply them in other areas as their career develops. Every combination of height, weight, and wingspan will share the same maximum specifications, while MyPoints will give players room to adjust their playstyle over time.
Team Badges and Teammate Badges add chemistry bonuses
NBA 2K27 will introduce five Team Badges that affect the entire squad. Three will activate during games when their conditions are met, giving the team a major momentum boost. The other two will be Gameplan Badges, changing the Offensive and Defensive Gameplan menus to influence how the team approaches each matchup.
The W will also feature 12 Teammate Badges built around direct connections with individual players. A Pick-and-Roll Teammate Badge linked to a power forward, for example, will provide a boost when running that play with her. Using the same play with an unlinked center will provide no bonus.
Each Teammate Badge will offer two upgrade directions. Players can concentrate its power on one teammate, or spread its effects across several players on the roster.
Play-calling unlocks as the season progresses
PlayVision will receive a game-wide redesign across NBA 2K27, and The W will teach players how to use the system. A rookie will begin with no play-calling abilities. Progressing through the season, completing in-game challenges, and earning the coaching staff’s trust will gradually unlock offensive control.
Quick plays will become available first, followed by more complex sets designed for specific players. In-game coaching will explain how to execute those plays, while season-long challenges will unlock additional Team Badge slots and opponent-specific game plans for dealing with different defenses.

MyWNBA brings MyNBA’s franchise systems to the WNBA
Players who would rather run the organization than control a single player will get MyWNBA. The mode is designed to mirror MyNBA, with every feature, adjustable simulation, and franchise mechanic from MyNBA integrated into the WNBA experience.
That includes making blockbuster trades, drafting future stars, and building a dynasty that can remain in the record books. MyWNBA will give the WNBA side of the game its own long-term franchise structure instead of limiting it to individual career play.
The W and MyWNBA are separate from The City, which will serve as NBA 2K27’s multiplayer competition space for male and female MyPLAYERs. A separate The City Courtside Report covers that part of the game.
