Fellowship 0.4.5.0 stops punishing overtime dungeons and adds auto-targeting
The update also adds a 12-hour buyback window for scrapped items, expands communities to 200 members, and buffs Gunde.

Fellowship Weekly Update 0.4.5.0 removes the item-level penalty for dungeons that run overtime and adds optional auto-targeting for offensive abilities. Chief Rebel also added a buyback system for scrapped items, several hero fixes and buffs, UI improvements, and a larger community size. The August 0.4.3.1 hotfix focused on targeted hero and dungeon bug fixes in August, before this broader Weekly Update 0.4.5.0.
The Steam patch notes for Weekly Update 0.4.5.0 also outline the developer’s plans to keep reviewing hero feedback while work continues toward version 1.0. The most immediate changes affect loot, dungeon controls, and a few abilities that could make runs feel more frustrating than intended.
Fellowship Weekly Update 0.4.5.0 Patch Notes
The biggest quality-of-life change is that loot rewards will no longer lose Item Level after a dungeon passes 10% overtime. Going overtime still affects Dungeon Score and Eternal Shards, but the update removes the additional loot penalty. Players can also recover the last 20 scrapped items for up to 12 hours through the Scrapper’s new Reforge option.
Auto-targeting is now available for ranged heroes as an optional setting under Settings > Gameplay > Auto-Target Attacking Enemies. The system does not apply to Interrupt, Crowd Control, mouseover-targeted offensive abilities, or abilities that can damage enemies or heal allies.
A Note on This Patch
This patch we’re introducing some Quality of Life changes, bugfixes and buffs. For balance changes, the intention going forward is to keep looking at the Hero feedback threads we have set up in the ‘Dev Discussion’ area of Discord, and see what we can implement over time while working on 1.0.
We are looking at changes to abilities, talents, and legendaries regarding the feedback of heroes and will also open up for more discussion regarding talents and legendaries in the current threads, to see what we can change to make the existing ones more interesting.
While there is a lot we would like to do, our focus is split between upkeep and new work, so we are likely to act on the feedback that best aligns with our goals for 1.0
For the Quality of Life changes, we’ve talked with the community regarding what triggers a lot of abandoned games and have made the decision to drop the downgrading of loot for dungeons that go over time. Going overtime already limits progression and we don’t want to continue double-punishing players and encouraging more players to quit. Our hope is that we have more players finishing the dungeon they are overtimed on as the loot provides a ‘silver-lining’.
We’ve also implemented a buyback on scrapped items. The last 20 items scrapped will be stored for up to 12 hours. We’ve left in the confirm dialog for now, but it’s positively received, we will remove that additional scrapping step in our next update.
Heroes
Meiko
- Fixed an issue causing the talent-effect from [Warden of the Temple] to not disappear when clearing the talent choice.
Mara
- Removed Queueing from [Brooding Shadows], it still has spam protection enabled to not instantly stealth and de-stealth if double clicking the ability.
- Fixed an issue causing the talent-effect from [Red Ledger] to not disappear when clearing the talent choice.
Vigour
- Fixed an issue where Vigour’s charged [Rune of Renewal] ignored additional players if they were not in line-of-sight. Only the main target needs to be in line-of-sight now.
Aeona
- Fixed an issue causing [Time Skip] to teleport in the same direction as [Temporal Barrage] is aimed towards. Now teleports in the player’s forward facing direction.
- [Time Skip] will not be used if the distance is too short and it will display a proper error message if trying to use it.
Gunde
- [Warbound] – Animation no longer finishes mid-cast when the player has high amounts of haste.
- [Bloodbound Spirit] Is now instant cast and damage increase during buff uptime on [Grim Carve] and [Heartsplitter] increased to 25% (was 15%)
- Pickup Radius of [Blood Feather] increased to 450 (Was 360)
- [Owed in Blood] timer increased to 90 seconds (was 45)
Ardeos
- [Flickerstep] will not be used if the distance is too short and it will display a proper error message if trying to use it
Tariq
- Fixed an issue that caused his [Leap Smash] animation to get stuck.
Sylvie
- Fixed an issue where Sylvies butterflies could sometimes disappear or just stop when they were too far away from Sylvie.
Rising Spirit
- Fixed an issue with [Rising Spirit] max stacks and updated the dynamic tooltip to display correct information.
Gem Power
- Fixed an issue where [Harmonious Soul] did not get removed upon death.
UI
- Effect trackers now show the correct new uptime of an effect and no longer stays at the old max value.
(If an effect had a max value of 4 seconds but duration was increased to 8 by a buff or a proc, it would show 4 seconds all the time until there was actually 4 seconds left on the timer and then it would start counting.) - Optimized the loading for tabbed UI screens, re-loading a tab only when selected, and if it has differed from the last time it was opened. Since the Hero Screen is used for most Stronghold Vendors and is opened often, this will speed up the experience for players and calls to our backend
Community
- Community max member size has been increased to 200 (was 100).
Loot/Items
- Loot rewards no longer degrade in Item Level after more than 10% overtime, regardless of the League or Difficulty level. Going overtime will now only affect Dungeon Score and Eternal Shards.
- Added a [Reforge] option to the [Scrapper] where items that have been scrapped can be reforged for the currency you gained from scrapping the items. (Buyback function)
- Fixed an Issue where swapping heroes caused items (especially rings and relics) to unequip and end up in the mailbox instead.

Auto Targeting Enemies in Combat
We have added Auto Targeting to offensive abilities. If players are in combat with enemies but have no target, offensive abilities will now automatically select a target that players are in combat with and start casting the ability.
This function already existed on melee heroes and has been added to all ranged heroes as well.
Spells that are not included in this system are [Interrupt], [Crowd Control] abilities, [Mouseover targeting] offensive abilities (such as Ardeos’s [Fire Ball]), or abilities that can either damage an enemy or heal a friendly player (such as Aeonas’s [Temporal Barrage]).
This setting is optional and can be toggled in ‘Settings’ > ‘Gameplay’ > ‘Auto-Target Attacking Enemies’.
Ruins of Regath
- Fixed a VFX issue that caused square frames to be visible around the totems for [Searing Fissure] during boss fight with [Xurath].
General
- Fixed some collision issues in Stronghold and Ruins of Regath where players were getting stuck on stairs.
- Fixed an issue in AoE abilities which made them affect enemies below the player. (For example the deck below when standing on the top deck of the ship in Wraithtide Vault)
Affected abilities: Meiko’s [Stone Shield], Helena’s [Sweeping Strike], Xavian’s [Ruptured Dawn], Tariq’s [Hammer Storm], Rime’s [Frigid Winds], Elarion’s [Starfall Volley] and Ardeos’ [Fire Ball].
