World of Trucks Events Will Resume With Cruising South Dakota
Cruising Iceland and seasonal Halloween and Christmas events will follow later in 2026 as SCS Software continues reworking the service behind the scenes.

World of Trucks events will return in their familiar format, giving Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator players a new community schedule after a temporary pause. SCS Software confirmed the decision in its Steam announcement, with Cruising South Dakota planned as the first event.
Full details for Cruising South Dakota have not been shared yet, but Cruising Iceland will follow. SCS also confirmed that Halloween and Christmas events are planned for later in 2026, bringing back the seasonal community activities many players had missed.
The event system is still being reworked
Resuming the events does not mean the wider World of Trucks work has stopped. SCS Software’s teams will continue updating the systems and infrastructure that support the service, with the longer-term goal of moving more of the experience directly into both trucking games.
Planned improvements include viewing and redeeming rewards in-game, earning and checking achievements without leaving the game, and tracking event progress and community milestones from the same place. The studio is also working on broader changes behind the scenes to support World of Trucks in the future.
For now, players can look forward to the return of the familiar event format, beginning with Cruising South Dakota. Which upcoming event are you most interested in joining? Share your thoughts, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
