Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Isle of Ireland DLC Research Trip Gets Its Own SCS On The Road Episode

Euro Truck Simulator 2’s upcoming Isle of Ireland DLC now has a new behind-the-scenes episode to accompany its real-world research. SCS Software’s latest SCS On The Road video follows Community Manager Alex and members of the development team across Ireland, visiting locations that informed the expansion.

In a September 5 Steam announcement, SCS Software shared the finished episode after previously documenting the trip through an official blog post. Members of the Map team, QA team, and the studio’s Road Specialist traveled through Ireland to collect photos, study roads, and gather location references for the upcoming Isle of Ireland DLC.

The new episode builds on our earlier coverage of the research trip by showing how that field work translates into development material. Alex and the team visit some of the places used as references and explain the process behind gathering the information needed to recreate Ireland in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

For players, the episode offers a closer look at the work behind the map rather than simply presenting the finished roads. It also gives the Isle of Ireland expansion more context while development continues, with real locations and road details serving as the foundation for the in-game version.
