For Honor Patch 2.70.1 Will Add Ranked Dominion and Hero Balance Changes on September 10
The update also raises tutorial Steel rewards, fixes PC crashes, and leaves two bot issues for a later Title Update.

For Honor Patch 2.70.1 will bring Ranked Dominion and a revamped Ranked Duel system on September 10, 2026, with Season 0 establishing the game’s new three-month competitive cycle. Players who reach Reputation 5 can queue alone or in two-player teams for Dominion, while Duels remain solo-only. The full Patch 2.70.1 changelog follows the Blood Hunt season preview, adding exact Ranked Dominion rules, hero adjustments, and bug fixes for the September 10 launch.
Ranked Dominion uses single-pick rules, so each team can field only one copy of a Hero. Players will earn Rank Points through victories, climb from Bronze toward Master and Grand Master, and pursue seasonal ornaments, armor, and weapon rewards. The patch also includes balance changes for several Heroes, a revised Revenge decay system, fixes for PC crashes, and a minimap elevation indicator.
Patch Notes for For Honor 2.70.1
Season 0 will begin on September 10, 2026. The largest gameplay change is the arrival of Ranked Dominion alongside the revised Ranked Duels system, but the update also adjusts reward progression, matchmaking penalties, several Hero kits, and a range of bugs.
NEW FEATURE
Ranked Mode
This update introduces Ranked Mode for Dominion (and revamps Ranked Duels) to deliver a new compelling competitive experience. Now players can battle through the ranks and climb the leaderboards to claim end-of-Season rewards!
Ranked Mode offers improved matchmaking among players who have proved themselves in battle, and also meaningful rewards and progression Season after Season.
Find challenge and recognition on the battlefields of Heathmoor, and show off your victories with new ornaments, armor, and weapons as you enter each new Season!
Playing Ranked Mode
Ranked Dominion is available for players who have reached Reputation 5, and is playable by solo players and 2-player teams. 3- and 4-player teams cannot participate for matchmaking balance reasons.
Single-pick rules are also in effect for Ranked Dominion, which means a Hero cannot appear more than once on a given team. Ranked Duels remain available for solo players only.
Season Details
Ranked Mode is structured in Seasons. Players earn rewards based on both their highest and final placement in the Ranked Leaderboards for that Season.
Players must play a minimum of 5 ranked matches in a mode to claim the rewards for that mode (e.g., 5 Ranked Dominion matches to be ranked in Dominion; 5 ranked Duels to be ranked in Duels).
Each Season lasts 3 months. Season 0 begins on September 10, 2026.
Leaderboard Details
Ranked Dominion and Ranked Duels have their own Leaderboards.
Each leaderboard is divided into Ranks as follows:
- Main Ranks:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Master Rank
Each Main Rank is subdivided into 5 Divisions (i.e., Bronze V is the lowest Bronze division; Bronze I is the highest).
The Top 100 players in Master rank of each mode are in the Grand Master Rank.
Rank Points
Players are placed within the Divisions and Ranks of the Leaderboard based on their Rank Points (RP) earned through Ranked matches. Each Division in the Main Ranks spans 100 Rank Points (RP), for a total of 500 RP.
For example, Bronze V (the lowest rank) ranges from 0-99 RP, while Bronze I ranges from 400-499 RP. The same values apply for Silver V and Silver I, Platinum V and Platinum I, etc.
Players reach Master Rank when they have 2500 cumulative RP, and all higher scores are counted from that point.
Moving Up a Division or Rank
To move up a Division or Rank, a player must have RP that exceeds the maximum RP of that Division or Rank. Any excess RP is carried over.
Moving Down a Division
To go down a Division, a player must lose RP that is lower than the lowest value for that Division (for example, standing at Silver III with 210 points and then losing 25 RP sends the player down to Silver IV with 185 points).
If the player is at the bottom Division of a Rank (i.e., Silver V, Gold V, Platinum V, Diamond V) when they lose RP, they only lose RP until they reach the lowest RP limit of 0 points for that Division. Their position in the Division is preserved.
Moving Down a Rank
To go down a Rank, a player must lose a match while at be at the lowest RP limit for their Division (i.e., Silver V with 0 RP). They drop to the top Division of the next lowest rank. For example, if a player at Platinum V with 0 RP loses 40 RP, then they drop to Gold I at 460 RP.
Earning Rank Points
Players earn Rank Points (RP) for every victory in the respective modes.
Note: All the RP values shown below apply for Season 0. We will review leaderboard progress and balancing on a regular basis and may make adjustments between Seasons.
- The number of RP earned per victory depends on the game mode and current rank:
- Dominion
- Main Ranks: 35 RP/victory
- Master: 5-35 RP (based on player skill)
- Duel
- Main Ranks: 20 RP/victory
- Master: 5-20 RP (based on player skill)
- Both Dominion and Duel also grant a Personal Win Streak bonus of +25 RP for each win after 3 consecutive victories.
- Dominion Mode also grants a Team bonus of +5 RP to players who aren’t on their own Personal Win Streak if at least one other member is on a win streak.
- Players cannot collect a Team bonus and Personal bonus for the same victory.
Losing Rank Points
Players can lose RP the following ways:
- Defeat in Dominion or Duel
- Abandon Match Penalty – Failure to rejoin a match in progress
- Rank Decay – applies to Grand Master rank only
Defeat Values
The amount of RP lost for defeats varies by mode and player Rank:
In Dominion matches, the defeat values are:
- Bronze: -10 RP
- Silver: -25 RP
- Gold: -35 RP
- Platinum: -40 RP
- Diamond: -50 RP
- Master & Grand Master: -5 to -35 RP (based on skill)
In Duels, the defeat values are:
- Bronze: -5 RP
- Silver: -12 RP
- Gold: -17 RP
- Platinum: -20 RP
- Diamond: -25 RP
- Master & Grand Master: -5 to -20 RP (based on skill)
Abandon Match Penalty
If a player fails to reconnect to a match in progress, they are awarded a loss and then may lose additional RP and are excluded from matchmaking for a certain amount of time.
The values of the penalty increase with the number of dropped games within the previous 6 hours.
- 0 drops: no penalty
- 1-2 drops: 125% RP loss + 15 min matchmaking penalty
- 3-4 drops: 150% RP loss + 30 min matchmaking penalty
- 5+ drops: 175% RP loss + 60 min matchmaking penalty
Rank Decay
Rank Decay applies only to Grand Master ranked players who do not play a Ranked match within a certain period.
- Days 0-6: no penalty
- Day 7: -10 RP
- Day 8: -20 RP
- Day 9: -30 RP
- Day 10+: -40 RP
Rank Decay can cause a player to drop out of Grand Master Rank.
Season Rewards
Rewards are given at the end of the Season based on the player’s highest and final ranking.
There are two types of rewards:
- Ornaments – given for the highest rank reached during the Season
- Separate ornaments for Dominion and Duel
- Grand Masters must still be within the Grand Master rank at the end of the Season to claim that ornament
- Armor / Weapon sets – given for a specific Hero each Season, and awarded for reaching a specific rank in either Dominion or Duel
- Armor reward for reaching Gold Rank in either mode
- Weapon reward for reaching Diamond Rank in either mode
- If a player reaches Gold or Diamond in both modes, they also receive 2x armor or weapon parts for each set
End of Season Downtime and Reset
At the end of the current Season, Ranked Mode is paused for 24 hours of downtime to calculate final leaderboard positions and distribute rewards.
New Ranked matches cannot be played in either Dominion or Duel modes during the downtime, but any matches in progress when downtime begins can be completed.
All players have their ranks reset as follows:
- Grand Master and Master drop to Gold V
- Diamond, Platinum, and Gold drop to Silver V
- Silver and Bronze drop to Bronze V
Players begin the new Season at their new ranks, and their earned rewards.
Tutorial Reward
- Increased the total Steel granted upon Tutorial completion from 3,500 Steel to 10,000 Steel.
This adjustment is intended to help new players progress faster by providing earlier access to Hero unlocks and cosmetic customization options.
UI Improvement
- Minimap – Elevation indicator: Players can now see on the Minimap if subject is above or below them, thanks to added arrows on their icon.
BALANCING CHANGES
Revenge Decay Update
- Revenge will now decay if the player does not receive or apply any new tags after a short timer (5s) that begins once all their tags have expired.
[Developer’s Comments]
We want to promote active gameplay and reduce the amount of stalling in contexts where it is most frustrating.
Before, if a Defender builds Revenge, Attackers must stop attacking and disengage in order for the Revenge to decay. This would often frustrate players, forcing them to rotate to another point. Now, if the Attackers simply stop attacking, even if they remain close, Revenge will start to decay on the Defender. However, if the Defender takes a risk and attacks, Revenge will not decay.
In practice, this means that assuming a player stops interacting with a fight, first his tags will wear off after 5 seconds, then only after an additional 5 seconds of no applying or receiving tags will his revenge gain start depleting, for a total of 10 seconds
This gives both sides a clear way to deal with Revenge, while remaining in the fight.
Arakure
- Adjusted the chain timing from Pride Breaker into Twin Burst to 300-366ms (down from 300-400ms)
- Adjusted the chain timing from Riot Swing into Twin Burst to 466ms (up from 300-400ms)
- Adjusted the chain timing from Riot Swing into Dirty Trick to 400ms (up from 200-400ms)
[Developer’s Comments]
Twin Burst used to be guaranteed when landing Riot Swing. This wasn’t intentional, so we’ve delayed the chain timings for it.
Dirty Trick could be guaranteed when performed after the opponent dodged Riot Swing. This wasn’t intentional, so we’ve delayed the chain timings for it.
Other adjustments and bugfixes ensure we avoid bypassing hit-stun rules.
Centurion
- Refined Phalanx shield increased to 70 (up from 50)
We previously reduced the shield granted to compensate for its new ability to Cleanse. While this is strong, the reduction was too much, making the Feat weaker than intended, so we’re increasing its shield amount.
Juren
- Reduced the distance of Crown Breaker pushback
[Developer’s Comments]
Crown Breaker ledged and led to wall-splat too often. We’ve toned down how far back enemies are pushed to keep it slightly more in line with similar moves.
Khatun
- Maximum Stamina increased to 150 (up from 120)
- Stamina regen per second increased to 40 (up from 30)
- Delay before regaining Stamina reduced to 250ms (down from 300
[Developer’s Comments]
Khatun relies a lot on Soft Feints and Feints to gain offensive momentum. We’re adjusting the amount of Stamina at their disposal to increase their offence potential without impacting directly the strength of her kit.
Sohei
- Eye of the Demon (Feat 1): Cooldown increased to 90s (up from 60s)
[Developer’s Comments]
Following previous damage buffs, this Feat can lead to big damage. While this is intentional, it happens too often. So, we’re increasing the cooldown to make it more balanced with similar feats.
Tiandi
- Increased the forward movement on Light Openers & Palm Strike
- Palm Strike now chains into Openers instead of Finishers
- Increased window of input detection after Palm Strike
- Dragon Kick Follow-Up damage increased to 24 (up from 20)
[Developer’s Comments]
We previously reduced how safe Tiandi is after Palm Strike and Dragon Kick. However, their follow-up damage was not adjusted to compensate.
Dragon Kick Follow-Up’s damage has been reverted to its original value.
Palm Strike will now chain into openers, leading to more potential damage and chain pressure.
For a better quality of life, we’ve also increased the forward movement on Light Openers & Palm Strike and made it easier to buffer attacks after Palm Strike.
Valkyrie
- Chain Light Attacks sped up to 400ms (down from 500ms)
- Chain Light Attacks damage reduced to 9 (down from 13)
- Light Openers, Heavy Openers, Hunter’s Rush and Dodge Attacks now chain 100ms later into Chain Lights on Hit and on Block
- Top Light Finisher has extra forward movement
- Heavy Finishers are now undodgeable
- Spear Sweep Punish damage reduced to 22 (was 24)
- Can now dodge during Shield Tackle Stance exit recovery
[Developer’s Comments]
By making Chain Light attacks faster, these will become unreactible at all levels of play, giving Valkyrie an easier time to reach their finishers and most potent mix-up. To compensate, Chain Light attacks deal slightly less damage. The chain timings into Chain Lights were also delayed ensuring the attacks can still be dodged after getting hit by an opener.
When choosing to mix-up between Heavy Finishers and Spear Sweep, if the opponent chose to dodge at Spear Sweep timing, they would already get hit by the Heavy Finisher. With this change, we’re simply making it more obvious for players what’s happening, while giving Valkyrie a bit more utility for group fights. With all this new offensive potential, we’ve toned down Spear Sweep’s Punish damage slightly.
Next, Top Light Finisher has slightly more forward movement to improve its potency as a peel tool in group fights, giving it a bit more utility in comparison to Side Light Finishers.
Lastly, we’ve made some small adjustments to Shield Tackle Stance for input comfort, ensuring that it’s easier to dodge out of the stance. The option already existed but required much more precise input. It should now be easier to perform for all players.

KNOWN ISSUES
Arakure and Juren Bots
There are two known issues for the Arakure and Juren bots in this Title Update:
- Bot Replacement – In Dominion matches, Arakure and Juren players who disconnect from the game will be replaced by Warden bots.
- Training Arena – Arakure and Juren bots do not spawn when they are selected as opponents in the Training Arena. However, once the Training Arena is underway, players can open the Pause menu and select Change Opponent to spawn an Arakure or Juren bot.
The Arakure and Juren bots perform normally otherwise, and these issues will be corrected in the next Title Update.
