Spirit Wins BLAST Open Porto Final With 3-1 Victory Over MOUZ

Spirit claimed a second consecutive trophy after beating MOUZ 3-1 in a best-of-five final that featured a nine-round CT comeback on Mirage.

Spirit defeated MOUZ 3-1 in the BLAST Open Porto grand final, earning a second consecutive trophy after their Esports World Cup victory. The result also settled the teams’ previous meeting in the Bounty final, where MOUZ had beaten Spirit just over a month earlier.

Both finalists had won their groups, and Spirit secured its place in the top-six stage with a 2-0 sweep of G2 after the group phase. Six teams moved on from the group stage to the Super Bock Arena in Portugal, following the route outlined in our earlier BLAST Open Porto playoff coverage.

Adrian “xelex” Vincze entered the final as MOUZ’s best performer at the event, averaging a 1.38 rating. In HLTV’s live final coverage, the Hungarian player said he was excited for his second big final and pointed to MOUZ’s earlier win over Spirit as reason to believe the team could repeat it.

Spirit punished MOUZ on Dust2 before the comeback

Spirit opened the best-of-five on Dust2 and repeatedly attacked the B site, exposing a weakness that MOUZ struggled to repair. Oldřich “PR” Nový began with two triple kills while anchoring the site, but his impact faded as the map continued. He finished with a 0.55 rating, while Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and Adrian “xelex” Vincze posted 0.64 and 0.57, respectively.

Mirage looked ready to follow the same script when Spirit reached an 11-4 lead. Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov added seven kills across the two pistol rounds, giving Spirit a clear path to the finish.

MOUZ refused to let the series end there. Even with Dorian “xertioN” Berman starting 0-11 in opening duels, the team won nine straight rounds on the CT side and completed the comeback, taking Mirage 13-11.

donk and zont1x answered on the final maps

Ancient brought the response Spirit needed. The team had won 14 straight matches on the map before the final, and Danil “donk” Kryshkovets extended that run with a 2.39 rating. Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia also delivered a crucial 1v3 clutch as Spirit reclaimed control of the series.

Nuke became the deciding map, and zont1x again played a central role. His Glock secured a key round after MOUZ won the second-half pistol, stopping the team from building the momentum it needed for another comeback.

Spirit closed out the map soon afterward and lifted the BLAST Open Porto trophy. MOUZ had found a way back into the final on Mirage, but Spirit’s control on Ancient and Nuke gave them the last word.

Additional moments from the final

The series also produced several sharp individual rounds from both teams.

donk explained Spirit’s shared calling structure

In the post-match interview, donk said MOUZ “just didn’t connect to the server” during the deciding series. Looking back at Spirit’s earlier Bounty appearance, he described the team’s performance as having “no energy.”

His own ambition was straightforward. Donk said he wanted to win as much as possible, while acknowledging that his game intelligence may influence matches more than his individual mechanical level or ranking.

Donk also confirmed that he now serves as a secondary caller. Spirit’s current approach gives every player room to contribute to the game plan and make decisions during rounds, a different structure from the team’s setup a year earlier.

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Valve. Released in September 2023, it is the fifth main entry in the Counter-Strike series and serves as a direct replacement for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, compete in objective-based rounds across modes such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue. Built on the Source 2 engine, the game introduced volumetric smoke physics, revised weapon handling, and a new sub-tick server architecture. It inherited all cosmetic items from its predecessor and features both a map-specific Competitive mode and a numerically ranked Premier mode.
