BETBOOM beat FURIA 2-1 in an IEM Beijing 2026 quarterfinal, ending a five-match losing streak against the Brazilians and earning a semifinal against MOUZ on Nov. 7 at 10:45. The deciding map went to overtime after FURIA fought back from a 12-7 deficit.
Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko powered BETBOOM’s 13-5 Ancient win with high-impact kills and a T-side clutch, then helped shut down FURIA on defense. Dust2 was closer. FURIA won the opening pistol and converted it, but BETBOOM still took a 7-5 lead into halftime. A 2v4 win by Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo kept the half from turning into a blowout.
FalleN opened the second half with an all-headshot USP ace. Once both teams had rifles, BETBOOM punished a double-AWP setup to reach 10 rounds. YEKINDAR answered with a triple, and late multi-kills from Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato sent the series to Nuke.
BETBOOM opened Nuke with five straight rounds on the CT side, but FURIA answered with five of its own before the switch. A BETBOOM forcebuy kept FURIA from leveling the map. Later, molodoy’s P250 triple on a near-full eco threatened to swing the balance, but BETBOOM hit back and reached match point at 12-7. FURIA then won five rounds in a row to force overtime.
After the score reached 14-14, doubles from Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin and zorte put BETBOOM on match point. In the final 2v2, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov flanked through Heaven and killed the planter before FURIA could get the bomb down.
The win also ended a run of five straight losses to FURIA, including BETBOOM’s defeat in the Thunderpick World Championship grand final. In an HLTV interview after the match, Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov credited better communication and shooting with helping BETBOOM win difficult situations. He said coach Artem “Fierce” Ivanov and Boombl4 had built more structure around involving all five players in a round, while giving them room to make individual plays.
Magnojez also said zorte had regained confidence after a rough group stage, praising his performance against FURIA. The semifinal against MOUZ is a rematch of BETBOOM’s group-stage loss. Magnojez called that earlier showing one of the team’s worst, citing poor communication and shooting.
