The First Descendant Penalized 1,053 Users During Its Latest Abuse Sweep

The review covering Aug. 28 through Sept. 3 included 2 permanent bans, a 7-day trading restriction, and 1,050 separate matchmaking penalties.

The First Descendant penalized 1,053 users during an abuse review covering Aug. 28 through Sept. 3, 2026, PDT. The enforcement included permanent bans, a trading restriction, and separate matchmaking penalties tied to uncooperative play and unusual gameplay activity.

Nexon detailed the results in a Steam notice and said its enforcement work draws on player reports and monitoring. Players who encounter abnormal or abusive behavior can report it through the in-game reporting feature.

How the 1,053 penalties were divided

One user received a permanent game ban for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs. A second permanent ban concerned exploitation of processes related to the Open Store payment system, with the notice describing the case as unfair gains from the store payment process.

Another user received a 7-day trading restriction after abnormal transaction records were detected. Uncooperative play accounted for 1,005 separate matchmaking penalties, while 45 more were issued after unusual gameplay activity was detected. Together, those 1,050 matchmaking penalties made up nearly all of the week’s enforcement total.

Compared with the previous weekly review covering Aug. 21 through Aug. 27, the new total was 409 lower than the earlier 1,462 actions.

How players can challenge certain penalties

Users who want to contest a claim involving exploitation of the Open Store payment process were directed to the official website’s Customer Service > 1:1 Support. For payment-process claims involving chargebacks, the notice directs users to contact the store where the payment was made.
