PlayStation will bring two State of Play broadcasts together on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The main presentation will be followed immediately by a new episode of State of Play Japan.
The first broadcast will feature updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners. It will end with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation from Square Enix.
State of Play Japan will follow immediately
Hosted once again by Yuki Kaji, State of Play Japan will focus on upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia. The presentation will include new gameplay, announcements, and other updates.
State of Play will air in English with Japanese subtitles. State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles, giving viewers a way to follow both broadcasts regardless of the show’s primary language.
When to watch both broadcasts
The double-header will begin on September 3 at 6:00 a.m. PT / 9:00 a.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. CEST / 10:00 p.m. JST. For more regional start times, the first State of Play begins at:
- North America: 6:00 a.m. PDT, 7:00 a.m. MDT, 8:00 a.m. CDT, or 9:00 a.m. EDT
- UK and Ireland: 2:00 p.m. BST
- Europe: 3:00 p.m. CEST or 4:00 p.m. EEST
- Asia and Oceania: 10:00 p.m. JST, 9:00 p.m. AWST, or 11:00 p.m. AEST
Both broadcasts will stream live on YouTube and Twitch, with State of Play Japan starting immediately after the first presentation. The PlayStation Blog announcement confirmed the schedule and language options.
Co-streaming and VOD guidance
Creators planning to co-stream the broadcasts or save them as VODs should account for licensed music that Sony Interactive Entertainment does not control. Outside licensing agreements may affect co-streams and archived videos, so PlayStation advises omitting copyrighted music from recap videos or reposted clips.
