Rebel Wolves has shown that The Blood of Dawnwalker will launch on consoles on September 3, 2026, without a dedicated Performance mode. Standard PS5 and Xbox Series X players will still have a 60 FPS option, however, as the frame-rate-first setting is labeled Balanced.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Quality uses Dynamic 4K and targets 30 FPS. Balanced also uses Dynamic 4K, but raises the target to 60 FPS. The option’s name may sound like a middle ground, but on these two consoles it serves as the smoother choice despite not carrying the usual Performance label.
PS5 Pro uses the same two mode names with different performance targets. Its Quality mode targets Dynamic 4K at 30 FPS, while Balanced targets Dynamic 4K at 40 FPS. Both settings receive enhanced visual quality, but the console footage does not show a 60 FPS mode for Sony’s upgraded system.
Xbox Series S settings were not revealed, leaving owners without a confirmed resolution or frame-rate target ahead of launch. Responses to the console footage have also included requests for a lower-resolution option that could push frame rates higher, particularly on PS5 Pro.
For standard PS5 and Xbox Series X owners, Balanced is the clear choice for smoother movement and combat. PS5 Pro players will have to choose between the sharper 30 FPS Quality presentation and the smoother 40 FPS Balanced setting, while Series S owners are still waiting for more information.
