Once Human 3.1.1 Fixes Isles of Abyss Bugs and Clarifies Tech Enhancement Rules
Players who received the wrong Frontline Dispatch formula will get the intended Camping Chair formula by mail within 3 business days after the incorrect formula is recovered.

Once Human’s October 26 Version 3.1.1 fixes address a missed opening task and an underwater laboratory door in Isles of Abyss, along with a bug that could leave ships lifted off and stuck. The update also corrects a blueprint error in the Frontline Dispatch – Premium Pack and explains why Tech Enhancement effects may not apply to items players already own. The team detailed the changes in its October 26 Steam announcement. The October 23 3.1.1 fixes had already fixed ship-movement lag and listed an Isles of Abyss Team unlock adjustment among its scheduled changes.
The intended Formula: Camping Chair will be sent by mail within 3 business days after the incorrect formula is recovered. Tech effects apply to facilities, tools, and related items built, crafted, or obtained after a player unlocks the effect in a scenario. Older items need to be rebuilt or recrafted, as moving or replacing them does not grant the new effect. An October 22 Version 3.1.1 update had already fixed nine issues and flagged four others for urgent repair.
Once Human Version 3.1.1 Patch Notes
October 26
The following issues have been fixed:
- Fixed an issue where some players did not properly receive the initial main story task after entering the “Isles of Abyss” scenario.
- Fixed an issue where the Frontline Dispatch – Premium Pack granted the “Formula: Red Velvet Armchair” instead of the intended “Formula: Camping Chair”. After recovering the incorrect formula, we will resend the “Formula: Camping Chair” via mail within 3 business days. Please check your mail.
- Fixed an issue where the underwater mechanism door in the laboratory corresponding to the “Ruins Archive – Monthly Environmental Report” could not be opened properly.
- Fixed an issue where, in some cases, ships would abnormally lift off and become stuck. After the fix, ships in an abnormal state will be automatically reset to their normal position.
Tech Enhancement:
We have recently received feedback from some Metas that certain Tech enhancement effects appear not to be working correctly. After investigation, the activation rules for these effects are as follows:
After a Meta unlocks a Tech enhancement effect in a scenario, that effect will automatically apply to facilities, tools, and related items that are newly built, crafted, or obtained afterward. However, it will not automatically apply the new enhancement effect to facilities already built, or items already crafted or obtained, before the Tech was unlocked.
Therefore, if you want the corresponding facilities or tools to receive an unlocked Tech enhancement effect, you need to rebuild or recraft the corresponding content after unlocking the Tech. Merely replacing, moving, or putting back existing facilities/items will not grant them the new Tech enhancement effect.
Have you had to rebuild or recraft something after unlocking a Tech Enhancement? Follow along for more on the Isles of Abyss fixes and the rules behind these upgrades through X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
