Fellowship Will Prioritize 1.0 Over Season 4 With a Matchmaking Rework Planned
Early Access Season 3 will continue at a reduced pace, with high-priority bug fixes coming before balance and quality-of-life work.

Fellowship is heading into a new development phase with work on 1.0 taking priority over Season 4. In a Campfire Checkpoint published August 7, 2026, Chief Rebel said the team would move away from rapid weekly patches and spend more time on the systems needed to take the game out of Early Access.
The change marks a move away from the weekly maintenance cadence Fellowship used earlier in Season 3, when Thursday morning maintenance covered balance work, rewards, and bug fixes.
Matchmaking and onboarding lead the 1.0 plan
Chief Rebel identified matchmaking and queues as the top priority for 1.0. Instead of adding more penalties or extra systems around the existing setup, the team plans to rework the foundation of matchmaking and address the reasons players leave or disengage from matches.
Onboarding is another major part of the plan. The developers want Fellowship to be easier to understand for players who are unfamiliar with MMO-style ideas such as rotations and global cooldowns. Those systems have become second nature to the established community, but they can be a barrier for people trying the game for the first time.
The team is also considering live tests for account-wide Bloodstones and Gems. Those experiments would help show whether shared progression makes players more willing to start another character. A public test build ahead of 1.0 is also being considered so players can try the reworked systems and provide feedback before the full release.
The roundtable discussion with Will, who leads the core team across UI, progression, loot, multiplayer, and localization, is available below.
Season 3 support will continue at a slower pace
The developers described Season 3 as one of the team’s strongest efforts so far. New Dungeons, revised routes, profile customization rewards, challenge rewards, and a smoother difficulty curve through the Leagues helped keep players active for longer than Season 2. The previous season had less new Dungeon content and launched during a difficult period for the game’s visibility.
Season 3 will continue while 1.0 is in development, but updates will arrive less often. In a follow-up Discord announcement, Will said the immediate order of work would be high-priority bug fixes, balance adjustments, and then quality-of-life changes.
The first fixes will target the Meiko finisher bug, the Anomalous Orbs issue, and several Blessing bugs. Once those changes are live, the team will review how they affect the hero roster before deciding which balance adjustments to make. For now, the developers plan to favor stat changes to existing abilities instead of adding or removing core gameplay from those abilities.
Developer updates are moving to a new Discord channel
Chief Rebel has also created a dev-insights channel to keep development information from getting lost in general conversation. The channel is intended to collect updates and explanations from the team in one place.

A first-time Normal Pinnacle run is planned for next week
The checkpoint also announced an upcoming Normal Pinnacle run led by one of the developers. The plan is to complete the activity without prior knowledge and form a four-player group with others who have not finished their first Pinnacle run. The host will play Sylvie, so the group will not be looking for a Healer.
For now, Chief Rebel’s focus is clear: keep Season 3 running with fewer updates while putting the team’s main effort into matchmaking, onboarding, and the broader work needed for 1.0. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
