Fellowship 0.4.2.0 pushes absorb changes and a hero tuning pass
The update raises Stamina on item level 315+ gear, normalizes how absorbs take damage, and touches nearly every major hero kit.

Weekly Update 0.4.2.0 pushes Fellowship through a broad balance pass. It builds on the work in Weekly Update 0.4.1.0, but this round goes harder on absorbs, Stamina, and hero tuning.
The update also reaches into itemization and dungeon combat. Several traits and blessings changed, the rare Pinnacle mount drops got a boost, and a dungeon enemy’s damage type was corrected.

HEROES
DRs, and Bloodshards, and Thorns – Oh My!

Fixed an issue causing the curse [Bloodshard Volley] and reflected damage from [Thorns] on plant enemies to ignore player damage reductions.

With this change, [Thorns] now deal Physical damage.
- [Bloodshard Volley] now deals Magic damage.

Stamina Adjustment 315+

The amount of Stamina found on item level 315+ items has been increased by 50%.

This amounts to approximately 26% increased maximum health for all heroes (except Tanks, more on this below).

The intention with this change is to grant healers a little more room to breathe and react to damage, in Eternal specifically.

For Meiko, Xavian, and Helena, the amount of Health gained from each point of Stamina has been reduced by 10%.

The changes to Stamina are not focused primarily on making any big changes to Tank’s – rather it is focused on DPS and Healers. As such, we have compensated the increase of Stamina found on 315+ items by reducing the amount of health Tanks gain from each point of Stamina.

The sum of these changes equate to an approximate 14.5% increase of maximum health for Meiko, Xavian, and Helena.

Consolidation of Absorb Shield
We have decided to update all absorbs in the game so that Absorbs always take 50% reduced damage. The intention is to ensure all Absorbs have the same “mechanical feel” to them, to provide players with a stronger intuitive sense of the value of any absorbs on their health bars.
Non-hero Absorb changes

Emerald Gem Bonus [Sentinel’s Bastion] now grants 5% / 15% max health absorb (was 10% / 30%)

Damage dealt to the shield is now reduced by 50% (was not reduced before).

All Meiko’s ability damage except [Earthfist Barrage] has been increased by 30%.
- [Earthfist Barrage] now performs a total of 5 hits over 1.0 seconds (was 6 hits over 1.5 seconds) – the final hit is still a heavy hit like before.

[Earthfist Barrage] now triggers a Global Cooldown.

This allows Meiko players to comfortably queue up the next builder ability without being worried they may interrupt [Earthfist Barrage’s] channel too early and miss out on the final hit.
- [Earthfist Barrage] itself is still off the Global Cooldown, as it has always been.

- [Spirited Vortex] now hits up to 40 enemies with each tick (was 19).

Talent [Perfect Storm] now grants a 25% chance (was 50% chance) to have [Lashing Stormkick] perform an additional kick for 100% of the power (was 60% of the power).

The chance is now increased by your Haste.

For clarification: if you have 20% Haste, the chance is increased by 20% for a resulting 30% chance to trigger.

Xavian

Fixed an issue with [Solar Shield] causing it to sometimes not apply the new absorb on the target.
Mara
Mara’s [Creeping Death] mechanic was able to reach unintended levels of damage output through various means of stacking Haste. While we want to keep the mechanic, we have moved power out from [Creeping Death] and into [Hemorrhaging Strike’s] bleed, baseline. [Seething Burst] has now also been added to the list of [Creeping Death] benefactors.
- [Queen’s Fang] damage has been reduced by 8%.
- [Arachnid Assault] damage has been reduced by 8%.
- [Hemorrhaging Strike’s] bleed damage has been increased by 30%.
- [Creeping Death] now increases the damage of relevant abilities by 0.5% for every 1% Haste you have (was 1% for every 1% Haste you have).

Talent [Caustic Strikes] now clarifies on tooltip that the damage of [Caustic Poison] gains the benefit of [Creeping Death]

Talent [Seething Burst] now gains the benefit of [Creeping Death]. The tooltip has been updated to reflect this change.

Fixed an issue causing [Hemorrhaging Strike] reapplications to reset the tick timer on the bleed effect, causing no ticks to happen while the bleed was being reapplied repeatedly to the same targets.

Talent [Hemotoxin] no longer double-dips from % damage bonuses. This was an unintended interaction that caused [Hemotoxin] to deal much more damage than intended in certain situations where the player had buffs or effects that increase damage with a percentage.

Fixed an issue causing the Major Trait [Diamond Strike] to sometimes take Mara out of [Stealth] when her damage over time effects triggered it.
Gunde

Talent [Bloodcraze] now deals 25% Strength damage (was 20% Strength damage] and deals 150% more damage per stack of [Owed In Blood] consumed (was 170%).

In summary, Bloodcraze damage has been increased by approximately 10%.

Talent [Darkening Hearts] damage bonus to [Heart Splitter] direct damage has been reduced to 10% (was 30%).

The Talent [Schism] now allows for up to 2 stacks of each [Schism] proc to be held at any one time. The proc now has a 20 second duration.
Ardeos

Fixed an issue causing [Wildfire] to still increase the tick rate by 20%. Now properly grants 30% tick rate to all Ardeos’ damage over time effects.

Fixed an issue causing [Searing Blaze] reapplications to reset the tick timer on the damage-over-time effect, causing no ticks to happen while [Searing Blaze] was being reapplied repeatedly to the same targets.
Elarion
- [Spirit Refunds] now apply 5 stacks (was 3) of [Lunarlight Mark] to the main target and 2 stacks (was 1) to up to 2 additional targets.
- [Highwind Arrow] damage has been increased by approximately 41%.
- [Highwind Arrow] ricochets now deal 50% of [Highwind Arrow] power (was 70%).
- [Heartseeker Barrage] damage has been reduced by 5%.
- [Heartseeker Barrage’s] chance to cause [Lunarlight Marks] to [Erupt] has been increased to 25% (was 20%).
- [Lunarlight Marks] that [Erupt] when triggered by [Heartseeker Barrage] now deal damage to up to 40 enemies (was 12). The damage is reduced beyond 12 targets.

[Lunarlight Marks] that [Erupt] now still deal the normal [Lunarlight:Salvo] damage to the main target, and the [Erupt] damage is only dealt to other enemies near the target.

- [Starfall Volley] damage has been reduced by 20%.
- [Starfall Volley] now deals reduced damage beyond 12 targets (was 10).

Aeona’s [Spirit Refunds] no longer generate 30 Chrona. Now grants 1 stack of [Clairvoyance] for 12 seconds, causing your next Chrona Spender to have no cost. You can have up 3 stacks of [Clairvoyance] at any one time.
- [Aura of Deferred Fate] can now hold up to 60% of a player’s maximum health in [Stagger] (was 50%).

[Amend Fate’s] amount of [Stagger] cleanse has been increased by 37.5%, while the healing multiplier has been reduced to 200% (was 275%).

This equates to the same raw healing output, but with a larger portion of [Stagger] being cleansed per cast.

The amount of Mana replenished when cleansing [Stagger] with [Amend Fate] and [Restore Continuity] has been increased by 400%.
