Borderlands 4’s Next DLC Brings Rival Rippers and a Returning Vault Hunter
Bounty Pack 4 arrives on July 30 with a repeatable mission, fresh loot, Vault Card 4, and separate $5.99 purchases for each part.
Gearbox has detailed Borderlands 4‘s next paid content and teased the return of FL4K in Story Pack 2. The latest official announcement confirms that Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions and Vault Card 4 will arrive with Version 1.9 on July 30, while Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort will follow on September 10 alongside Version 1.10.
The July content will be sold in two separate parts. Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions costs $5.99 USD and contains the narrative mission and related gear. Bounty Pack 4: Vault Card 4 is also priced at $5.99 USD and adds cosmetics and more gear. Regional prices will appear on each storefront when the content launches.
Murders and Acquisitions brings a feud to the Toxic Scowl
The story sends players to the polluted desert canyon called the Toxic Scowl. Levaine, leader of the Electi, is dealing with The Flock, a group of pacifist Rippers who have abandoned violence, and The Blasphemers, an aggressive faction that has seized a nearby Order facility.
The repeatable mission lets players take sides through A-or-B decisions. Those choices can alter dialogue and combat encounters without creating fully separate story branches. Replaying the mission can also lead to different allies joining the final boss fight.
Players who own the pack can access the mission after their first meeting with Levaine in Carcadia Burn during the main campaign. Completing it unlocks a Vault Hunter Skin for every Vault Hunter, a Vehicle, and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin. The Toxic Scowl also includes one new boss and three mini-bosses to farm for fresh loot.
The reward pool includes the PRISM Jakobs Sniper Rifle, a new Pearlescent weapon, along with six Legendary items: Silver Sliver, Overconsumption, Plump Bob, Hydrowerks, Oxidation, and Loiter Sploiter.
Vault Card 4 adds 24 cosmetics
Vault Card 4 focuses on desert-themed rewards earned through gameplay. It contains 24 cosmetic items and four rerollable Legendary gear pieces.

- Stealth & Seek, a Maliwan Sniper Rifle
- Pressure Kettle, a Daedalus Grenade Ordnance
- One Unique Head for each base game Vault Hunter
- Four Vault Hunter Skins usable by all Vault Hunters
- Five Weapon Skins
- Five Vehicle Skins
- Four ECHO-4 Drone Skins
- Two ECHO-4 Attachments
Active Vault Cards grant Daily and Weekly Challenges that provide extra loot and XP. Progress does not expire, and players can level a card through normal activities such as defeating enemies, completing quests, and traveling across Kairos. Once purchased, a Vault Card can be activated from the Vault Card screen in the ECHO menu.
FL4K returns in Story Pack 2
Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort is scheduled for September 10. The former beastmaster from Borderlands 3 returns as the focus of the story, tracking down their missing skag companion, Mr. Chew.
The search leads FL4K to a volcanic resort covered in jungle growth on a lush island. Tediore has begun a covert invasion there, setting up the next story conflict. Gearbox plans to share more details in a future DevCast.
Story Pack 2 will launch alongside Bounty Pack 5 and Version 1.10. The same release will also introduce Loveless the Hacker as an all-new Vault Hunter. Story Pack 2, Loveless the Hacker, and Bounty Pack 5 will each be available for separate purchase.
Players who own the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition receive the Bounty Pack Bundle and Vault Hunter Pack. The Deluxe Edition includes the Bounty Pack Bundle. Bounty Pack 4, Bounty Pack 5, and Story Pack 2 are divided into separate content parts, though each is also included in the applicable bundle.
Gearbox also pointed back to Borderlands: Dead ECHOs, its scripted narrative podcast set in the series universe. The first episode has started a weekly run across several podcast services.
