STALCRAFT: X is changing how weapon modules work, with the new system scheduled to arrive on July 22, 2026. EXBO outlined the changes in its latest Steam announcement.
The rework will make it easier to move modules between weapons, but players will need to handle the process from a safe zone. Removing a module from one gun and attaching it to another will work much like changing weapon attachments. The process will be free and will not require extra steps outside the safe-zone restriction.
How Quasi-Destructors will work
Players who want to sell a module will still need a Quasi-Destructor. The item must be used on a detached module to unbind it, after which the module can be listed on the auction.
Since modules will become easier to remove and trade, Quasi-Destructors will have a narrower purpose. To keep them from becoming too common, EXBO will raise their shop prices and reduce their drop rate in operations.
Both the new module mechanics and the Quasi-Destructor changes will be released on July 22, 2026. Until then, the current system remains in place.
