Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov walked away from Stockholm with the event MVP but not the trophy. He finished the tournament with a 1.38 rating, a +5.50% round swing and 1.12 kills per round win, yet Falcons were swept 3-0 by Vitality in the final. m0NESY said the team simply couldn’t keep momentum after the first map. He pointed to sloppy moments, clutch losses, and weak comms as the main reasons the final slipped away. “We were making a lot of mistakes today and the communication wasn’t on point,” he told HLTV.
The AWP specialist admitted the final stung personally. He called his own performance “not bad” overall but went on to say he missed key shots in decisive rounds. He said he holds himself to high standards in 1v2 and 1v3 situations and was frustrated that he didn’t close several of those moments.
All the players in our team are aggressive, but sometimes we need to play a bit more passive to win advantages
Asked about pistols, M0NESY laughed that the team’s record there felt almost like a joke. He doesn’t buy pure bad luck as the only reason. For him, the bigger problem is team connection during advantageous situations. Falcons’ aggressive roster needs sometimes to pull back and create setups that let players finish clutches instead of overcommitting to first contact. You can find the interview by HLTV below:
He also reflected on stability and role clarity. After switching teams this year, he said things felt off both when he joined the Falcons and during his time in G2. He’s worked with teammates to get more mid-round freedom with the AWP and to take initiative on T side instead of always playing a supporting role. Despite the loss, m0NESY sounded determined rather than deflated. He thanked family and friends for support and promised to keep improving. “It’s time to become better,” he said, thanking his parents, brother, and grandmother for backing him.
