Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.21: New Fixes and Positive Review Milestone

CDPR's latest patch improves the game and celebrates a remarkable review milestone.

Oh, Cyberpunk 2077, how you’ve journeyed through the ups and downs these past few years! It’s been a wild ride for players and developers, from glitches that left us in stitches to gameplay improvements that have truly transformed your reputation. Today marks another chapter in this saga with the launch of patch 2.21.

The newly released patch 2.21 follows the previous update, which was loaded with cosmetic delights—from new cars to character customization options—and an expansive photo mode. This time around, we’re seeing a lot more focus on fixing existing issues.

The list of fixes is extensive, addressing some persistent bugs from earlier patches as well as new ones introduced in patch 2.2. Honestly, it feels like CD Projekt Red (CDPR) is on an eternal quest to squash every last bug, who can blame them? In such a sprawling game world, something lurks just beneath the surface!

The headline feature of this latest update is technical: it brings DLSS 4 support with multi-frame generation capability for those shiny GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards. The promise here is three times the frames generated per traditionally rendered frame thanks to AI technology; that’s quite an upgrade! You can even toggle between different models for frame reconstruction today across all GeForce GTX cards—how neat is that? I can only imagine how much sharper scenes are going to look!

A happier note comes alongside this patch: after three years of ups and downs, Cyberpunk 2077 has now reached an impressive “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam based on its most recent reviews, an accolade not easily earned given its rocky start! This classification reflects an astounding 95% positivity among its last 12,698 reviews. Overall, though, it retains a “Very Positive” status with over 715,558 total reviews, clearly still bearing some scars from its initial launch troubles.

I’ve said before that Cyberpunk has found its way into my heart; I mean, who doesn’t love exploring Night City at night? As CDPR gears up for new projects like The Witcher 4 and the upcoming Cyberpunk sequel “Orion,” they claim they’re done with significant patches. Still, if past patterns hold true, we might see another update sneaking in eventually; after all, it seems complicated for them to resist adding tweaks even when they promise otherwise!

  • Main focus on various bug fixes from version 2.2.
  • Addition of DLSS 4 support with multi-frame generation for RTX 50 Series cards available January 30.
  • Simplified options for DLSS Reconstruction using CNN or Transformer models.
  • Optimizations aimed at reducing memory usage during frame generation.
  • General stability improvements throughout Night City.

Edit your settings accordingly once you get this patch installed!
