Microsoft’s XBOX Nano Controller is a pocket-size option for younger players, smaller hands, and gaming on the go. Preorders begin Oct. 14 at $49.99 USD, with availability planned for November, according to the Xbox Wire announcement.
At a little over 5 inches long and 3.5 ounces, it is Xbox’s smallest controller, and Microsoft says it is shorter and lighter than most modern smartphones. The familiar layout includes all 18 standard gameplay inputs, along with a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button for shortcuts such as screenshots and gameplay capture. XBOX Wireless and Bluetooth support let it connect to compatible devices.
Microsoft points to Minecraft Dungeons II as a fit for shared play, with up to four heroes teaming up locally or online. The company also cites Forza Horizon 6 as a game players can take beyond the living room.
November availability and holiday offers
The controller will be available in November in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Microsoft says additional markets will follow, and pricing and availability vary by country.
Two US holiday offers will pair the controller with other products. A purchase of select Samsung TVs will come with the controller and a two-month Game Pass Ultimate offer for new members. Samsung TVs’ built-in Gaming Hub provides access to the Xbox app, letting players in select regions use their monthly cloud playtime to play hundreds of Xbox Game Pass titles with a connected controller. A separate US offer will include the controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members who purchase a Meta Quest.
