Gaijin opened pre-orders for Jean Bart, a French premium battleship at Rank VI in War Thunder. The Jean Bart Pack costs 79.99 and includes the ship, 30 days of premium account time, 3,000 Golden Eagles, the unique title “Glorious Corsair”, and the unique decal “Great Coat of Arms of Jean Bart”.

Jean Bart comes in the 1955 fit and will arrive in the game in the next major update. The ship keeps the Richelieu class’s forward-heavy layout, with eight 380 mm guns in two elevated turrets on the bow, plus a mix of auxiliary and anti-aircraft weapons that should make aircraft and smaller targets think twice. Gaijin also says the battleship can top out at just over 30 knots, so it should feel more mobile than a lot of players would expect from a ship this size.
The history behind Jean Bart is just as dramatic as the loadout. She was the second completed ship of the Richelieu class, laid down in 1936, and reached Casablanca under her own power on June 19, 1940 despite being unfinished and under attack. In November 1942, during the Allied landings in Morocco, she exchanged fire with the US Navy while still incomplete. After the war, Jean Bart entered service in 1949, received a major modernization in 1955, took part in the Suez Crisis in 1956, and was scrapped in 1970 after serving as a floating barracks.

For players planning to grab the pack through Steam, Gaijin points them to the in-game hangar, then Shop > Online Store. The studio also notes that Jean Bart’s characteristics can still change before the ship is added to the game.
