War Thunder Update 2.59.0.13 Adds a Missile Hit Camera and Radar Fixes

The patch also changes overpressure handling, adjusts M1 KVT armor, and fixes event scoring and replay performance.

War Thunder Update 2.59.0.13 adds a new ending to the missile tracking camera and fixes several radar-related problems across air combat, ground vehicles, replays, and aircraft warning systems. Gaijin Entertainment published the notes on September 18, 2026, in its Steam announcement.

The missile camera will now show a final sequence of the target being hit, giving players a clearer view of the result instead of cutting away before impact. The update also corrects multipath calculations when missiles are flying above water, fixes an issue that let the Ka-52 guide multiple 9M120-1 Ataka missiles at once, and restores the salvo launch time limit for the Wildcat HMA2’s beam-riding LMM Martlet missiles.

Air-defense awareness receives a smaller but useful adjustment. The 9S35M1 Buk-M1 SAM system radar has been added to aircraft radar warning receiver databases, so pilots can identify it through their warning systems.

Ground combat changes focus on overpressure and armor behavior. Fire control systems are no longer treated as signal modules for the overpressure mechanic on all ground vehicles, although specific vehicles may receive that designation again based on module placement. The M1 KVT’s front-hull NERA composite armor now matches the durability of the M1 Abrams, and the damage model for certain armor components has been updated alongside it.

Several smaller corrections round out the update. Ships that run aground can now receive destruction credit correctly, previewing vehicle presets no longer briefly displays the current preset between selections, and high-altitude clouds should no longer show stripes. Players using the old video card support mode should also see fewer flickering bushes. The Air Realistic Battles multiplier now applies correctly to mission score in Nuclear Escalation and Bullet Hell for the Space Program event’s “Marks of distinction for pilots,” while radar calculations in some air-combat replays should no longer cause major performance drops.

War Thunder Update 2.59.0.13 Patch Notes

The largest changes affect missile feedback, radar detection, ground-vehicle damage behavior, and event scoring. The official notes are reproduced below in their original order.

Aircraft

  • A final camera-tracking sequence showing the target being hit by the missile has been added to the missile tracking camera.
  • A bug that sometimes caused the calculation of the multipath effect to work incorrectly when the target missile (most often an anti-ship missile) was above water has been fixed.
  • Ka-52 — an issue where the radar could be used to guide multiple 9M120-1 Ataka missiles simultaneously has been fixed. (Report).
  • Wildcat HMA2 — a bug that caused the beam-riding LMM Martlet missiles to lack a salvo launch time limit has been fixed.
  • 9S35M1 Buk-M1 SAM system radar — the radar has been added to aircraft RWR databases.

Ground Vehicles

  • The fire control system is for now no longer considered a signal module for the overpressure mechanic for all ground vehicles. It might be set as a signal module on specific vehicles again in the future depending on its location (Report, Report).
  • M1 KVT — the durability of the NERA composite armor on the front of the hull has been adjusted to match that of the M1 Abrams. The damage model for certain armor components has been updated to match the updated M1.

Naval Vessels

  • A bug that prevented the destruction credit mechanic from working for a ship that had run aground, just as it does when a vehicle is abandoned, has been fixed.

Interface

  • A bug where the current vehicle preset could briefly appear between previewed presets during sequential previewing has been fixed.

Graphics

  • A bug where stripes could appear on clouds at high altitudes has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused the bushes to flicker when using the old videocard support mode has been fixed.

Achievements

  • A bug that caused the Air Realistic Battles multiplier to not apply to mission score earned in the Nuclear Escalation and Bullet Hell modes for “Marks of distinction for pilots” in the Space Program event has been fixed.

Other

  • A bug with radar calculations in replays, which caused performance to drop significantly in some air combat replays has been fixed.

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

The new missile-camera ending is a small presentation change, but the RWR and overpressure fixes reach deeper into combat. Which part of Update 2.59.0.13 will affect your matches most? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
