The First Descendant’s August Notice Flags a Harris Damage Bug

The newest issue is scheduled for a fix in Patch 1.4.0, while Frost Walker, Intel CPU crashes, antivirus conflicts, and Easy Anti-Cheat problems remain on the list.

The First Descendant has added a Harris damage-calculation problem to its August known-issues notice. The team says the Max Damage Multiplier tied to the Firearm Additional Damage from Harris’s Transcendent Module Focused Supervision and its Designate Danger Zone skill is not being applied correctly.

In the August 6 Steam notice, the team confirmed that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Patch 1.4.0. That patch will also increase Harris’s Max Damage Multiplier. The notice did not provide a release date for the patch.

Harris’s damage issue is planned for Patch 1.4.0

The problem affects the firearm bonus damage generated by Designate Danger Zone. Players using the module should be aware that the skill’s maximum damage multiplier may not behave as intended until the planned patch arrives.

The team said the August notice will continue to receive updates as more bugs are found, along with older issues that still have an impact on gameplay.

Frost Walker’s opening cutscene can still fail

The list still includes a problem with the intro cutscene for Void Intercept Battle: Extreme’s Frost Walker encounter. The scene may fail to play after Frost Walker appears and before the battle begins. This is a carryover from the game’s July known-issues notice.

Intel CPUs and antivirus software remain linked to crashes

Some PCs with 13th- and 14th-generation Intel CPUs can still crash when launching the game. In affected cases, The First Descendant may close with an “Out of video memory” error. Adjusting power limits in the BIOS can partially address the problem, but the team is still waiting for a response from Intel. Its official guidance for affected processors is linked in the notice.

Some antivirus programs can also terminate the client. The team has requested exceptions for the game, but not every exception has been implemented yet. The temporary steps currently provided are:

  • Bitdefender: Open System Protection, select Advanced Threat Detection (ATD), then Manage Exclusions. Add the file or folder used by The First Descendant and save the change through the Bitdefender FAQ.
  • McAfee Agent: Open McAfee Security, go to Navigation, and select Quarantined and Trusted Items. Find TheFirstDescendant.exe in the quarantined programs list and restore it. The notice points to McAfee support for its instructions.

Easy Anti-Cheat troubleshooting

Players whose Easy Anti-Cheat installation is not working properly should use the Easy Anti-Cheat FAQ for troubleshooting steps. If the problem continues, the team asks players to contact customer support through the official website and include relevant screenshots.

The August list may change as the team identifies more problems. If one of these bugs has affected your sessions, share your thoughts in the comments and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
