Peak, the sudden hit co-op climbing game from Aggro Crab and Landfall, will not be treated as a permanent live service, the studios told GamesRadar+ in a recent interview.
Nick Kaman, studio head at Aggro Crab, said the team has been supporting Peak full time since the game blew up, but that support won’t last forever. “It’s not going to be a forever game but we also don’t want to leave anything on the table,” he told GamesRadar+. Kaman added that, while the studio could keep adding content, their aim is to finish the features they’re excited about and then move on.
The game has already sold more than 10 million copies and has seen regular seasonal events, including a holiday update with snowball fights and festive decorations. Both studios warned players that update frequency will slow in 2026 after months of intense post-launch work and high demand.
Expect continued event support and occasional patches while the teams wrap up planned content. The developers do not intend to run Peak as an ongoing live service forever, so major new features are more likely to arrive in the near term rather than being drip-fed for years. For quick updates from the devs, Aggro Crab has been posting news and event details through the year, and the studio has acknowledged the team has been “running on pure adrenaline” during Peak’s fast growth.
