Overwatch added a cat-only 6v6 arcade mode where spamming “meow” is basically required

A newly added Arcade mode in the Overwatch reboot places two teams of six Jetpack Cats against each other in a deliberately silly free for all. The mode appears in the menu with the name ;ASKLDFAL;S C;A and plays out on Colosseo around a stationary robot. Jetpack Cat is one of five new heroes introduced with the reboot that dropped the “2” from its title, received a UI overhaul, and launched a year-long narrative arc. The hero can fly and carry allies, which enables airborne eliminations such as Cassidy ultimates striking while carried and putting a normally slow Reinhardt directly into an enemy grouping. Jetpack Cat’s ultimate can also grab opposing players and fling them off the map.

Her default voiceline is labeled Taunting and consists of the string “meow-meow-meeeoow.” That voiceline and keyboard-style chat spam are core elements of the new Arcade matches. Players in the mode frequently spam voice lines at each other while floating and careening near the objective. Shooting occurred sporadically, and there was a fair amount of in-match scratching and character roleplay. The match experience ends chaotic and playful. One player reported that the match concluded with their team winning and that variations of “meow” and in-character keyboard spam flooded the chat during and after the game.

Blizzard issued a hotfix on February 24 that included the first set of nerfs aimed at Jetpack Cat and several other tweaks, which may affect how often players see this cat-packed chaos in ranked or quick play. The mode serves as a lighthearted cooldown option for players who want a break from more serious matches, and it foregrounds Jetpack Cat’s mischievous personality and very on-brand vocal antics.
