Patch Notes

World of Warcraft 12.1.5 Will Make Legion and Battle for Azeroth Reputations Warbound

The planned change covers 35 reputations, though special cases such as Chromie and Honeyback Hive still need PTR verification.

World of Warcraft Patch 12.1.5 will make Legion and Battle for Azeroth reputations Warbound, allowing every character on the same Battle.net account to share their reputation standing. Blizzard’s Midnight: 12.1.5 PTR Development Notes include the change, so it is planned for the upcoming patch and is not live yet.

Warbound reputation sharing began with The War Within, and Blizzard has been bringing older expansion reputations into the system over time. Shadowlands received the same treatment in Patch 11.1.5, a change covered in our Shadowlands reputation coverage.

Patch 12.1.5 will continue that work with 35 reputations from Legion and Battle for Azeroth. The Battle for Azeroth group includes the Alliance factions 7th Legion, Order of Embers, Proudmoore Admiralty, Storm’s Wake, Waveblade Ankoan, and Honeyback Hive. Horde factions include The Honorbound, Zandalari Empire, Talanji’s Expedition, Voldunai, and The Unshackled, while Champions of Azeroth, Rajani, Rustbolt Resistance, Tortollan Seekers, and Uldum Accord are also part of the plan.

Legion’s major factions in the current breakdown are Court of Farondis, Dreamweavers, Highmountain Tribe, Valarjar, The Nightfallen, The Wardens, Armies of Legionfall, Talon’s Vengeance, Army of the Light, and Argussian Reach. The list also includes Chromie and the Fisherfriends of the Isles entries tied to Conjurer Margoss, Ilyssia of the Waters, Akule Riverhorn, Sha’leth, Corbyn, Impus, and Keeper Raynae.

The list remains a placeholder ahead of PTR testing. Chromie and Honeyback Hive are specifically called out as possible exceptions because of how those reputations work, and their final status will be checked once the Patch 12.1.5 PTR becomes available.

New adventures are coming to Quel’thalas and Zul’aman

Patch 12.1.5 will continue the story after Ula’tek’s defeat. An uneasy peace between Quel’thalas and Zul’aman is reaching a critical point as players descend into the deepest depths of the Coiled Isle to confront Kith’ix, a C’Thraxxi general imprisoned beneath the Vaults of Ula’tek. The Amani’s ancient foe has remained bound in its subterranean lair, but Ula’tek’s defeat has weakened the restraints holding it back.

Labyrinths will expand on the Delve formula with sprawling, mega-dungeon-like experiences. Players can complete them in one long session or tackle them piece by piece over time, with dedicated progression systems, unlocks, and rewards that reflect the larger scale. Valeera Sanguinar will accompany players as they push deeper into the feature’s challenges.

Aqir Invasions will appear as zone-wide public events in Eversong or Zul’aman. Each invasion will run for 10 minutes every hour, moving through a series of public objectives before ending with a boss fight. Six scenario types, split between combat and non-combat activities, and eight possible combat affixes will give the events some variety.

Aqir Invasion affixes

  • Void Protection gives an Aqir Voidweaver a chance to appear and create a protective barrier around other Aqir.
  • Aqir Burrower sends aggressive Aqir through the area, knocking nearby players into the sky.
  • Void Sphere fills the area with spheres that attempt to trap players inside them.
  • Astalor’s Anguish adds Anguish Crystals that damage Aqir and adventurers caught in their blasts.
  • Swarms! replaces all Aqir enemies with swarms of smaller Aqir.
  • Aqir Elites replaces the enemy force with fewer but more powerful Aqir.
  • Void Infestation causes some Aqir to explode after spending several seconds in combat, damaging players and infecting other Aqir.
  • Web Weavers gives an Aqir Webweaver a chance to spawn and cover a player in webs if its channel is not interrupted.

The story will culminate in The Unbinding of Kith’ix, a focused single-boss raid encounter featuring Lady Liadrin. It will bring the escalating threat in Quel’thalas and Zul’aman to a decisive confrontation.

Ascendant Venomstones add another upgrade path

Following the launch of the 12.1.5 content update, Ascendant Voidcores will return as Ascendant Venomstones. Players can speak with Orin Straylight near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City to begin the quest Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom. After completing it and giving Orin time to research the item, players will be able to collect Venomstones from every Heroic or Mythic raid boss, Mythic+ Keystone dungeons at +10 or higher, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests.

Ten Ascendant Venomstones will upgrade a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Mythic, or highest-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket, or necklace. Trinketaur will sell the stones on the PTR for testing.

Class changes target Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warrior play

Devourer Demon Hunters will receive several changes to Collapsing Star. The spell will have increased range after it begins casting, reducing failures when a target moves away, and it will no longer enter a five-second cooldown when its cast is cancelled. Collapsing Star will also slow Fury drain only for a limited time. Cancelling and restarting the spell will allow it to slow Fury drain for approximately 1.5 full casts in total, after which Fury drain will resume in full even if the cast is interrupted or restarted.

For the Void-Scarred talent set, Demonic Intensity will cause Collapsing Star to reset The Hunt’s cooldown and increase The Hunt’s damage by 30% through its empower effect. Violent Transformation will reset Soul Immolation instead of The Hunt, and it will no longer increase The Hunt’s damage, which was previously 25%, or cause The Hunt to reset Soul Immolation. Monster Rising will increase Intellect by 10% while the Demon Hunter is not in demon form, down from 15%, while its Collapsing Star damage bonus will increase to 20% from 15%.

Marksmanship Hunters will replace Unload with the Blood Fletching talent. Critical strikes from Aimed Shot will apply the Master Marksman bleed effect at 20% of the damage dealt. For four seconds after a critical Aimed Shot, the target will take additional bleed damage whenever the Hunter’s abilities damage it.

Protection Warriors will get a simpler Execute rotation. Execute will no longer consume additional Rage for additional damage, while its base damage will increase by 100%, giving it the damage it would have dealt with the full optional Rage cost. The Colossus talent Practiced Strikes will also reduce the Rage cost of Execute and Revenge by 10.

Prey, Housing, and interface improvements

Players below rank 3 in Prey will receive 4000 Journey progress per hunt, equal to a full rank. This catch-up progress takes precedence over and does not trigger the progress from the first four weekly hunts. Players between ranks 3 and 8 will receive 2000 Journey progress from each of their first four hunts of the week, making it easier for new and returning players to reach Prey rewards such as decor and Hero track equipment earned alongside Delves.

Housing will gain keybinds for moving up and down floors in floorplan edit mode, with Page Up and Page Down as the default keys, along with a shortcut from the Housing Controls blueprint button to the blueprint collection. Public Neighborhoods will also no longer receive the same Endeavor twice in a row.

The update will add player coordinates below the minimap, an option to disable them, and a choice between integer and decimal displays. Raid frames will gain animated dispel indicators, including an animated dash border and an optional pulsing alpha effect. Pinging a macro will also show the information from #showtooltip in the ping alert.

World of Warcraft 12.1.5 PTR Patch Notes

The current PTR notes contain one Warband Reputation entry covering the account-wide change. The broader reputation breakdown remains subject to testing, while the same notes also outline the story content, new activities, item upgrades, class adjustments, Housing changes, Prey catch-up systems, and interface features described above.
