EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 will be open to all Xbox members during the upcoming Free Play Days event, with no Game Pass membership required. The event will run from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13, and Xbox’s Sept. 10 announcement also includes four games for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members.
The offer broadens access beyond Madden NFL 27’s earlier 10-hour EA Play trial. Players who purchase the full game after trying it can keep their Gamerscore and achievements from the event.
The Game Pass lineup
- Borderlands 4 lets players choose from four Vault Hunters and battle across Kairos with customizable skill trees and Action Skills. The game is optimized for Xbox Series X|S.
- F1 25 2026 Season Edition combines the F1 25 game with the 2026 Season Pack. Players can take on the 2025 season before starting a career built around the 2026 teams. The listing shows the edition at $34.99, reduced from $49.99.
- Surviving Mars: Relaunched focuses on building and managing a Martian colony, with a new research tree and the Services & Science update included in the experience.
- CarX Drift Racing Online offers multiplayer drifting, more than 100 cars, vehicle customization, and community-created tracks for online lobbies.
Dustborn gets a shorter trial
Dustborn will be handled separately from the Game Pass lineup. Players can try it for two hours from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13, with the store listing showing a temporary price of $4.49 instead of $29.99. Xbox notes that prices, discount percentages, and availability can vary by title and region.
The story-driven road trip follows Pax and a crew traveling across an alternate-history America, where players manage relationships, complete missions, and deal with challenges along the route.
How to access Free Play Days
On Xbox consoles, open the Store, select the Subscriptions tab, and choose the Free Play Days collection. Players can also find each title’s game page on Xbox.com, sign in, and install the games tied to their membership. The console instructions apply to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
