Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix climbed to the top of Steam’s paid-game sales chart after the franchise received a fresh burst of attention at D23 and the collection received a major discount.
The Aug. 15 D23 presentation brought a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, confirming The Land of the Dead from Pixar’s Coco as the upcoming RPG’s first announced Disney world. Miguel and Hector will join Sora’s party, while Mickey, Donald, and Goofy will also be playable in the sequel. Disney has also announced a Kingdom Hearts anime series for Disney+.
That renewed attention arrived alongside a much cheaper way to revisit the older games. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix, which brings together four games and two additional entries presented as movies, was reduced to $14.99 / £11.99 on Steam.
The broader Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece package was discounted to $29.99 / £25.49. It includes Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind DLC, giving players almost the full series for less than $30.
Kingdom Hearts 4 news sent players back to the older games
Steam’s ranking distinction is important: the collection took the top spot among paid games, while free-to-play titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends, and Dota 2 were outside that comparison. An Aug. 16 post on X recorded the collection holding the top paid-game position.
With Square Enix still planning Kingdom Hearts 4’s late-2027 window, the Steam sales jump gives fans a convenient chance to catch up on the stories that lead into the next mainline entry. The collection’s price cut clearly made that decision easier for anyone who has been waiting for the right time to start.
