Halls of Torment’s Final Lost Archives Preview Details New Foes and Artifact Effects
The briefing's lore centers on 3 Marks from different classes, while every new quest will offer a reward.

Cultists, spiders, bewitched armor, and book wraths will defend the halls of Halls of Torment: The Lost Archives, with a Lord waiting for players who survive long enough. Chasing Carrots’ final Steam preview also shows new artifact effects and teases rewards for the DLC’s quests. The September 28 briefing focused on weekly challenges, expanded records, and the Inquisitor’s Judgement-focused playstyle, as detailed in the previous Archives preview.
The Lost Archives remains scheduled to arrive on Oct. 22, 2026, a date Chasing Carrots confirmed in its release announcement.
In the briefing’s lore, the Scriptor Guild discovers the entrance after receiving 3 Marks from different classes. Studying them reveals a library with clues to special Marks beyond the familiar class system. The three-Mark detail describes the Guild’s discovery, not a revised player unlock requirement. An earlier preview’s five-Mark unlock condition said players would need at least 5 Marks for any character to access the map.
Two artifact cards show distinct ways to alter a run. The Unholy Fountain Pen removes the selected Mark’s bonus and grants 2 random bonuses while preserving class traits. Oathbreaker’s Gorget turns Block Strength and Defense into Damage at 50% efficiency.
New quests on the black board will cover Archives missions and tests for the Inquisitor and other disciplines. Each new quest will grant a reward. The briefing also warns that blood magic may tempt players seeking survival or greater power, and that hexed and accursed objects can lead down a dangerous path. Its final hint is to keep an eye out for books.
