Halls of Torment Hotfix Targets Boglands Crashes and Effect Errors
Chasing Carrots says the October 23 version should reduce crashes affecting the Blood Apostle and Inquisitor, along with problems involving Decay and other effects.

Chasing Carrots uploaded a Halls of Torment hotfix on October 23 to address a cluster of crashes, including recurring failures with the Blood Apostle and Inquisitor in Boglands. The October 23 hotfix notice says the changes should reduce the most prominent issues, while the developer continues investigating other problems. Chasing Carrots had also asked players to submit logs when crashes or other issues ended a run during the October 12 Experimental Branch update.
Some crashes involved Blighted Indolence’s Effect-to-Decay transformation. Others occurred when Decay tried to damage enemies that were already dead, or when any effect was applied to a dead enemy. Builds focused on Affliction or Decay were hit most often, though other effects could also be involved.
Halls of Torment Hotfix October 23, 2026 Patch Notes
- Blood Apostle and Inquisitor would crash very consistently in the Boglands
- Blighted Indolence (Effect -> Decay) transformation could cause crashes
- Generally an Issue with Decay trying to apply Damage on dead enemies would cause trouble
- Effects trying to be applied onto dead enemies would make the game crash
Chasing Carrots is still looking into further problems. Players who continue to encounter crashes after the update can send logs and crash reports to [email protected], or consult the developer’s Known Issues thread for crash, save, and other technical issues.
