The Final Fantasy franchise continues to thrive, with recent reports revealing that the Pixel Remaster series has surpassed five million units sold worldwide. This remarkable achievement comes from the franchise crossing a staggering 200 million total sales. It seems like Square Enix is riding a wave of nostalgia and success!

According to an announcement from Square Enix, two million of those units were sold since September 2023 alone. That’s quite a leap in just a few months! The Pixel Remaster series includes classic titles such as Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. Each game has been lovingly updated for modern platforms while retaining the charm that fans adore.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, and the Final Fantasy series has now sold over 200 million copies across the globe!

The journey began in July 2021, when the first three titles launched on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. Following that initial release, subsequent games rolled out over several months. By April 19, 2023, all six titles had made their way to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch platforms. Xbox Series players will get their chance to join in on the fun starting September 26, 2024.

This resurgence of interest in classic RPGs speaks volumes about how well these remasters have been received. With each title offering polished graphics and refined gameplay mechanics while staying true to their roots, it’s no wonder they’ve found a warm reception.
