Escape from Tarkov’s Battle Pass Document Pool May Now Reach Eight Per Map

A dated configuration comparison shows several document-location values changing from 3 to 4 on August 8, but Battlestate Games has not confirmed the adjustment.

Escape from Tarkov‘s Battle Pass document hunt may have gotten a little kinder again. Multiple document-location values changed from 3 to 4 on August 8, 2026. If those entries cover the full map pool, the total rises from six possible documents to eight.

The affected configuration is client/locations/response.json, and the game version remains 1.1.0.0.46657. Several entries across the displayed locations make the same 3-to-4 move, which points to a configuration change rather than a new client version. Battlestate Games has not confirmed the edit.

Dated records show the document limits had already moved more than once before the August 8 reading. An August 6, 2026, 4:26 p.m. EDT entry reduced the maximums across listed locations to a 2-and-1 split, with one document type capped at two and the other at one instead of three each. A separate August 6 entry changed the MaxInRaid value for all eight Battle Pass document types from 10 to 3, before an August 7 record returned those values to 10. The August 8, 5:00 p.m. EDT record then listed a maximum of four documents at every location.

The same August 6 data also listed Battle Pass documents as placeable in the Item case, THICC, Junk box, Documents case, SICC, and Folder of reports for Skier.

That would reverse the recent pressure on the Battle Pass search. A previous Battle Pass spawn comparison found that each map’s possible document count may have fallen from six to three, leaving players with fewer chances before a raid even started.

With the latest values active, each map would have two more possible document locations than the six-count setup. Not every raid will necessarily contain eight documents, and it remains unclear whether the same count applies across the full map rotation.

For now, the change looks like a buff to the document hunt, but its live status and duration remain unclear. Battlestate Games has not published new map-by-map spawn rates or explained whether the values are temporary.
