Escape from Tarkov’s Scav Life and Clan DLCs Are Now Planned for 2027

Battlestate Games has not announced a month or launch date for either expansion, while new quests leading into Scav Life are planned for the start of 2027.

Escape from Tarkov’s first two major expansions have been pushed to 2027, and Battlestate Games has not provided a specific release date for either one. Studio head Nikita Buyanov shared the timing change during a recent episode of Tarkov TV.

The delayed projects are Scav Life and a second expansion centered on an in-game clan system. Battlestate Games has not fully explained either DLC, leaving players with only a broad idea of what the next stage of Tarkov’s roadmap will look like.

The update comes after Escape from Tarkov left early access in November 2025 and reached its 1.0 release following almost a decade of development. That launch marked the end of one chapter, but the game’s long-term plans still include new systems and downloadable content.

Scav Life will focus on Tarkov’s AI faction

Scav Life is built around the scav faction, the AI-controlled fighters who roam Tarkov’s maps with worn equipment and improvised weapons. The expansion has been described as an overhaul of their behavior, with the goal of making scavs feel more like active inhabitants instead of enemies that only appear when combat begins.

Under the current plan, scavs will take part in passive activities outside of firefights. That could give the faction a stronger presence across the game’s maps, although Battlestate Games has not shown exactly how those activities will work.

Buyanov also said that new quests will arrive when 2027 begins and lead players toward Scav Life. The developer has not explained how closely those quests will connect to the expansion’s eventual content.

The Clan expansion has no release window yet

The second project is focused on adding a clan system to Escape from Tarkov. Beyond that basic direction, details remain limited, and it will also wait until 2027 alongside Scav Life.

For now, neither expansion has a confirmed month or day. Battlestate Games is instead teasing a Lighthouse rework as the next major piece of Tarkov content for players to watch.
