Dune: Awakening’s 1.4.0.2 hotfix trims transfer errors and crash cases
Funcom said the update requires a client-side download, may need a Steam restart, and will bring servers back up shortly.

Funcom posted the 1.4.0.2 hotfix for Dune: Awakening on May 26, 2026, and the update focuses on character transfer problems, crash fixes, a building alignment tweak, combat damage behavior, and a map color correction for Deep Desert sandstorms.
The studio said the hotfix needs a client-side download. If it does not appear automatically, players should restart the Steam client. For known issues, Funcom pointed players to the Discord server and the Steam discussion boards.

FEATURES AND CHANGES
User Interface:
- Clarified text in the “Before You Leave” character transfer warning. Now it covers both the vehicle backup and the vehicle disassembly and storage.
FIXES
Technical and stability:
- Fixed several issues that could cause character transfers to fail with an error.
- Fixed a client crash related to building pieces or reconstructed base placement under specific cirumustances.
- Fixed a client crash that could happen when a player interacted with UI dropdown elements on a controller.
Resources, Building, and Crafting:
- The Water Shippers Arch building piece now aligns properly with other building pieces.
Combat:
- Fixed an issue where characters affected by two or more attractor fields did not receive damage.
Graphics, Animations, and VFX:
- Fixed an issue where Deep Desert sandstorms appeared yellow on the map.
