Dead by Daylight 10.2.0 Will Revise 3 Perks and Restore Borrowed Time’s Live Version

Windows of Opportunity's PTB rework will remain, while This is Not Happening will lose its Great Skill Check bonus.

Behaviour Interactive has confirmed three perk adjustments for Dead by Daylight’s upcoming 10.2.0 update and a return to Borrowed Time’s live version. Windows of Opportunity will keep its PTB rework, leaving the live release with a mix of changes carried forward and pulled back. The developer outlined the decisions in a Steam developer update.

Shoulder the Burden will no longer deactivate for other Survivors after one player uses it. Behaviour said the shared restriction was a concern for solo players who cannot coordinate with teammates.

This is Not Happening will lose its Great basic Skill Check zone increase after concerns about its combination with Hyperfocus. The PTB had enlarged Good basic Skill Check zones by 150/175/200% and Great zones by 30%, so the Great-zone bonus is the part being removed.

Dark Arrogance will no longer shorten recovery after successful basic attacks. Its cooldown effect will apply to missed and obstructed attacks instead, addressing feedback that faster recovery after hits made chases feel too short.

Borrowed Time will return to its live version rather than receive the PTB rework. The 10.2.0 PTB notes proposed that Survivors passively mend Deep Wound over 40/35/30 seconds while they had Endurance. Behaviour said it wanted to retain the perk as an anti-tunnel option.

Windows of Opportunity, by contrast, keeps its PTB design. It will show window auras within 24m, grant 10% faster window vaults, and have a 40/35/30-second cooldown after a vault. Behaviour said it still considers the perk too broadly useful and hopes other Survivor perks can help fill the gap.

The full 10.2.0 patch notes will follow on Oct. 6. The update’s live release is approaching, but this developer update did not give a specific release date.

Dead by Daylight

Trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil where even death is not an escape, four determined Survivors face a bloodthirsty Killer in a vicious game of nerve and wits. Pick a side and step into a world of tension and terror with horror gaming's best asymmetrical multiplayer.

Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.
