BeamNG.drive launched on PlayStation 5 on October 19, 2026, bringing its vehicle physics and local split-screen to console. The port includes the PC release’s content and Update 0.40, which adds another car and other changes.
Standard PS5 supports FSR 3, while PS5 Pro uses PSSR. The game also includes 12 open-world environments and Career Mode activities such as deliveries, police pursuits, and time trials.
BeamNG.drive builds its soft-body vehicle physics from nodes and beams rather than treating cars as rigid bodies. That structure lets vehicles deform during collisions, driving the detailed crash simulation. The game simulates individual vehicle components at 240 Hz.
In YouTuber MuYe’s early test on PS5 Pro, everyday driving and split-screen appeared to run smoothly. Spawning too many cars brought frame-rate dips.
Mods and mod-authoring tools are unavailable at launch, though the developer is looking into ways to support mods.
