Los Santos has a very different traffic problem: Pokémon are roaming its streets, and Trevor is apparently the one doing the catching. Pokémon Go GTA Edition reshapes Grand Theft Auto V into a rough-and-ready Pokémon hunt filled with wild creatures and Poké Balls.
The mod strips much of the usual pedestrian population from the city and replaces it with Geodude, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu. Pikachu remained elusive during the run, but Squirtle showed up alongside Geodude.
Trevor becomes Los Santos’ unlikely Pokémon Trainer
The character support is a little less certain. Trevor seemed to be the only playable character able to hunt Pokémon, although another installed mod may have interfered with the setup. Either way, he headed out on Franklin’s motorbike and turned ordinary drives into impromptu hunts.
That produced two successful captures: a Geodude and a Squirtle. The city’s roads suddenly became much more useful for Pokémon hunting than for the usual high-speed chaos.
Charmander was less interested in joining the team. After breaking free of its Poké Ball, it started cursing in a thick Eastern European accent. The encounter quickly turned into a brawl, ending with Trevor landing a precise right hook and leaving Charmander face-down on the asphalt.
Technically, Charmander had only fainted. Practically, the scene looked less like a friendly capture and more like the strangest roadside dispute Los Santos has seen all week.
The idea fits neatly into Grand Theft Auto V‘s mod scene, which has also produced dismemberment and Dead Eye mods that push the game in very different directions.
The missing Pikachu and Trevor-only hunting remain question marks. Neither behavior can be pinned entirely on Pokémon Go GTA Edition, since the setup may have included another mod that changed how it worked.
