Yet another delay of another MMO title that surprised a lot of fans during its brief access. Amazon’s New World had reached a lot of success during its closed access, available only to numerous players. For an MMO, it was very promising, let me tell you that. Streamers have praised the game and looked forward to its release, but it seems to have stalled once again.
Apparently, based on a recent development update, New World has been delayed yet again. At first, the game was scheduled to release somewhere in Spring 2021, which according to the developers was hard to reach, pushing them to reschedule the release to a later date.
We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch. These features won’t be ready for the Spring timeframe that we had communicated. With that in mind, we will release New World on August 31, 2021. With this extra time, we’ll be able to add these substantial improvements while polishing and fine-tuning the whole game before we open Aeternum’s shores to the world.
Furthermore, the developer noticed that it would continue New World’s Alpha version in the coming months and expand the testing branch to EU on March 30, 2021.
The developers are also working on a ton of endgame content that will surely help the game’s longevity. See what the developers are working on, check out the video below:
