The Medium is an upcoming psychological horror video game developed and published by Bloober Team, scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S on 28 January 2021. Today, it got a new trailer showcasing the game’s music and gameplay:
The trailer was mainly focused on the music by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka and showed some gameplay. Arkadiusz Reikowski has already produced music for Layers of Fear 1 & 2 and the Blair Witch game. Akira Yamaoka is the composer behind the music for a handful of Silent Hill games, so The Medium will be getting two talented horror music composers with a lot of experience.
The Medium is a unique psychological horror game because it will implement a “dual reality” type of gameplay. This means that players will need to solve puzzles and battle enemies between two realities at the same time: the spirit world and the real world. Players will travel to an abandoned communist resort and use their unique psychic abilities to uncover its deeply disturbing secrets.
