That’s right, one of Valve’s most iconic FPS games, after being left in the dust for so long, has finally gotten an update. The update is Halloween themed, with the event: “Scream Fortress XII,” and its cosmetics were all concepts by players.
Four new fan-designed maps are coming to the game: Megalo, Bloodwater, Hassle Castle, and Moldergrove, along with 22 new community cosmetics, 19 new community effects, and 15 new community war paints. It looks like even after not getting a big update for some time, TF2 fans have kept their loyalty to the game. Its most recent updates were bug, optimization, and crash fixes with a little bit of character balance.
Another change by Valve is when a player has become ultra-dominant within a particular match, they will be “Marked for Death” with nerfs to various powerup modifications.
For those unfamiliar with TF2, it’s an FPS similar to Overwatch that was released 13 years ago! A lot of Overwatch’s characters have also been inspired by TF2 like Mercy (the Medic), Torbjorn (the Engineer), and many more, but the game hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves in past times.
TF2 is free-to-play, so if you’re late for the party, you can download it now from Steam!
