Counter-Strike 2’s Bomb Changes Meet Three Updated Workshop Maps

The update also adds Workshop map and Community Servers shortcuts to Counter-Strike's Play menu in Steam China.

Counter-Strike 2’s latest update changes how players receive bomb damage information, lets the explosion interact with smoke and fire, and refreshes three Community Workshop maps. The full update is listed in the game’s Steam announcement.

The bomb health preview now appears once the bomb becomes audible, giving players a little more information during the final seconds of a round. The explosion also now interacts with smoke grenade clouds and molotov or incendiary fire.

On the map side, Fachwerk, Boulder, and Debris have each been updated to their latest available Community Workshop versions. The Play menu in Steam China also gains a dedicated Workshop maps section and a shortcut to the Community Servers list.

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Valve. Released in September 2023, it is the fifth main entry in the Counter-Strike series and serves as a direct replacement for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, compete in objective-based rounds across modes such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue. Built on the Source 2 engine, the game introduced volumetric smoke physics, revised weapon handling, and a new sub-tick server architecture. It inherited all cosmetic items from its predecessor and features both a map-specific Competitive mode and a numerically ranked Premier mode.
