The Sunken Temple, also called the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, is in the Pool of Tears in eastern Swamp of Sorrows. Reaching the lake is the start of the approach; the dungeon portal is deeper inside the temple.
Location at a Glance
- Zone: Swamp of Sorrows
- Level guidance: 50-60
- Version: World of Warcraft: Forever
How to Reach the Entrance
- Travel east through the Swamp of Sorrows to the Pool of Tears.
- Find the temple approach around 69.5, 54.6 on the Swamp of Sorrows map and enter through the flooded ruins.
- Continue through the temple passages with your group until you reach the instance portal.
Alliance and Horde Travel
Horde parties can stage from Stonard before heading towards the lake. Alliance groups need to plan the longer journey into the swamp and should avoid treating the Horde settlement as a safe rest stop. Meet before entering the ruins if anyone is unfamiliar with the approach.
Before You Go
The world-map marker identifies the temple approach, not the precise floor or staircase inside. Do not split up to follow different passages simply because everyone appears to stand near the same surface marker.
Use the Forever dungeon context when preparing your group. The Sunken Temple has appeared in different forms across WoW versions, including Season of Discovery's raid conversion, and those versions should not dictate this run's party size or route.
