Diablo 4 Season 16 Will Add Tyrael’s Boons for Targeted Rewards

Its 132 points improve vendor offers, Gold, Experience, Legendary drops, and crafting supplies, while unlocking Master Mercer in two Torment towns.

Diablo 4 Season 16 will give players another way to direct War Plans rewards through Tyrael’s Boons, a seasonal 132-point tree focused on vendors, drops, and crafting supplies.

The system is separate from War Plan Tactics, which lets players spend points to favor certain activities and rewards. Tyrael’s Boons instead changes what players can earn or buy.

Its four branches each take up to 33 points. Each has a main node, a fork with two mutually exclusive options that can each be ranked three times, a final node, and another node that can reach 25 ranks. Players can earn enough points to fill every branch, but must choose one option at each fork.

Farming bonuses cover drops and crafting

Scent of Gold increases Gold found by 25%. Its Sacks of Coin and Fistful of Gems nodes give Champions and Elites a chance to drop bursts of Gold or Gems. Material Desires raises Horadric Cube Materials by 15%, 30%, or 45%, while Diamonds in the Dirt increases Gem Fragments by the same amounts. Legendary Luck raises the chance of finding Legendary items by 50%, and Lessons in Victory grants 4% to 100% more Experience from kills.

Trash for Treasure cuts the Alchemist’s material-transmutation costs by 30%. Spare Parts and Obducite Pillager give Champions and Elites a chance to drop bursts of Salvage Materials or Obducite. Eye for Obducite increases Obducite found by 10%, 20%, or 30%, while Tempered Expectations gives a 10%, 20%, or 30% chance for additional Scrolls of Restoration to drop.

Magic in the Metal gives salvaged Ancestral Unique items a chance to grant Scrolls of Restoration and adds the Greater Temper Recipe to the Horadric Cube. The recipe guarantees a Greater Temper but costs multiple Scrolls of Restoration. Forgotten and Found increases Forgotten Souls found by 1% to 25%.

Vendor branches add more focused rewards

Curious Addition adds an entry to the Purveyor of Curiosities with a much higher chance of yielding a Legendary or Unique item. Its fork lets players favor Legendary items through Legendary Addition or Uniques through Distinctive Addition. Quality Seals adds an entry for Horadric Seals of up to Magic, Rare, or Legendary rarity, while Good Luck Charms adds one for Charms of up to Magic, Rare, Unique, or Set rarity. Premium Purveyor makes purchases three times more expensive but raises the chance of Ancestral items. Two for One increases the chance of receiving a second item by 1% to 25%.

Merchant of Mystery unlocks Master Mercer, who sells class-focused Archetype Caches for Forgotten Souls. He appears in Temis and Gea Kul on Torment difficulty. After unlocking him, players can visit whenever they have Souls to spend. Unlike the Cabochon Merchant in the Undercity, Mercer does not appear only under specific conditions.

Choosing an Archetype Cache suited to a build narrows its possible rewards, improving the odds of finding useful Uniques and Legendary Aspects without guaranteeing a particular item. Branch upgrades affect how many caches Mercer stocks and how often he offers Ancestral versions. Exquisite Item guarantees an Ancestral Archetype Cache in his inventory, while Blessed Antiquities raises the chance of one by 0.4% to 10%.

Stuff of Legends unlocks 1, 2, or 3 additional Archetype Caches, and One of a Kind unlocks 1, 2, or 3 Greater Archetype Caches. Word of Power opens a Rune Cache with 1, 2, or 3 Runes of up to Magic, Rare, or Legendary quality. Crown Jewel does the same for a Gem Cache with Gems of up to Flawless, Royal, or Grand quality.
