DayZ Badlands Passes 325,500 Purchases in Its First Week

Bohemia also cited a player peak above 435,500, though its text and infographic describe that figure using different metrics.

DayZ Badlands surpassed 325,500 purchases across all platforms during its first week, Bohemia Interactive said in its Week 1 update. The expansion arrived on Oct. 15, after Bohemia announced that launch date in August.

The update’s text describes DayZ’s launch-period peak as more than 435,500 concurrent players, but its infographic labels 435,500 as peak daily active players. Those are different measures, leaving the figure unclear. The graphic also reports 3.77 million hours watched on Twitch since release.

Bohemia also said the launch promotion offered a discount of up to 10% on DayZ Badlands.

More fixes are on the way

The first patch, released last week, addressed several issues. Bohemia says problems involving modding and the community prompted internal changes to make future patches more consistent, along with efforts to improve communication with server owners and modders.

A hotfix focused on crashes and other urgent Badlands issues is expected to enter Experimental on Thursday, Oct. 29, followed by a Stable release next week. A second patch will come afterward with more fixes and adjustments to Badlands features. Bohemia also plans more development blogs about those changes and other topics.

DayZ’s Halloween seasonal event began Oct. 26 on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. The studio also plans a Christmas event as its final seasonal event of the year.
